Lifestyle aims to draw in the young female reader and make you all aware of the vibrant culture surrounding you all. We also would like to show appreciation for local, upcoming artists and businesses. I’ve always had a passion for showing the world what amazing people are out there with such raw talent; and sometimes a lot closer than you think. For example Faye Meana from Essex has recently released her third EP and has upcoming performances at the O2 in London. Make sure you check her out on June 6th! Everyone here at J Lifestyle wishes you a happy reading and hope you take something away from this experience. Tasmin Wellington Founder and Editor of Lifestyle

Nadian and Betty- “We really value our mother” Introduction from the editor: In this issue of JLifestyle we get a great chance to chat with famous photographers Nadian and Betty Smith. The two sisters enlighten us on the joys of having a caring mother who will do anything to ensure your happiness. Journalist April Morgan here at JLifestyle was assingned this segment and has once again kept up her reputation with us. With her ability to conversate with any given person and create a comfortable environment, I introduce to you Morgan’s exclusive interview with Nadian and Betty.
April: Morning guys, how are you finding London so far? Betty: It’s been great thanks, it’s very different from Eritrea here. Nadian: Yeah the constant flow of people flooding the streets is quite overwhelming. April: I can only imagine! What’s your favourite part of London so far? Nadian: Probably seeing the Lion King live, it was so good, no wonder it’s so popular. Betty: Madame Tussauds really freaked me out but I absolutely loved it.
April: Okay girls so let’s get into it. Tell us about your mother, Azeb. Nadian: In a nutshell, she’s basically our guardian angel. Betty: She’s just always been there for us. And i have only good memories of her. April: Of course you would, she has done a lot for the both of you. Betty: My sister and I felt so much love from her. She raised the both of us on her own, and paid for photography school for us.
Nadian: There is no way we would have managed to accopmplish all that we have without the strong support from her. April: WOW! Your very own super mum! Nadian: Exactly like that! It’s just something that we feel doesn’t get enough recognition and appreciation. Single parents all over the globe are working hard every day to secure their children’s future. April: And the two of you are being honoured as guests tomorrow night at the Parent appreciation Association summer ball if my sources are correct. Betty: Our speeches are rehearsed, dresses already purchased, and we are ready to help the cause. April: Tell us about the auction that will take place. Betty: Well people have donated their valuable possessions and are auctioning them to the highest bidder. And all of the money goes to the Parent Appreciation Association charity, where thousands of single parents are being rewarded with things that will
both themselves and their children. Nadian: Some people take cheques, some get house alterations, and some get money toward tuition for university. Betty: It really is an amazing charity that is doing so much for single parents in over six countries that are joining us, are growing each quatre. April: Would you say this is a hobby you’d take more seriously one day? Like maybe get more invloved? Nadian: Well I have two jobs in Tokyo, my contract will end in May 2019, and i will definitely come back to help the cause. Betty: I’m finishing up some work here in London, relating to the gallery opening back home in Eritrea. And I will extend my stay to continue helping out for the summer. April: That’s just great guys, you really are wonderful role models to the young girls out there. Oh and one last question! Our Twitter fans voted on this and it got the most votes by far. What advice do you have for a young person with a single parent? Nadian: Ah well I’d just say that you should always remember that your parents love and care for you, so treat them how they treat you. You help eachother out and build a more equal relationship. Betty: I think I’d definitely second to what my sister said and also add that trust is everything, they are your life partner. April: Thanks so much guys for your amazing answers and i really do wish you both the best of luck with your future work ventures. Betty: Thanks for having us.
