EDITOR’S LETTER Issue No.1

W

elcome!

Creating and launching a magazine of one’s own (even if influenced by an existing magazine) is a very rewarding and a fun adventure. Looking at the print magazine market, there are no products targeting university students. No one looking to entertain you, to inform you or educate you. Other magazines reaching young people often charge you. We at TimeOut On Campus want to give you the ultimate guide of London for students, for FREE. The three proposition of this magazine is to inform, entertain and educate. We want to inform you on everything that is happening around you so that you don’t miss a thing. You will know what is happening around London that is suitable for you when you need it. We want to have something entertaining on every single page of this magazine, (even our Ads). We promise you won’t be bored with our magazine, there’s something for everyone on every page. Finally, What’s the point of having a magazine if not to educate? We know students are constantly learning new things everyday, life at university is a completely new life than at home. Parents aren’t here to assist and educate you with everything you do but we are.

In this FIRST issue you will find three special features that will give you a head start to the brand new term. If this is your first time at university, we have included the ULTIMATE Fresher’s week guide around your campus. Student discounts might be the best things happening in a student’s life. The ultimate student privilege and in this issue we will tell you which stores are offering you deals you cannot turn down. September is the month we head into the autumn, it may not be as good as summer but there is no way why we can’t enjoy it. Thank you for picking up the first ever edition of On Campus. We hope to continue providing you with world-class journalism and show you the unique side of London you rarely get to see. See you in a month’s time. Editor-In-Chief

Autumn 2016 We know watching summer quickly disappear is difficult. Long sunny days of eating ice cream may be gone but we are sure autumn is the best seasons ever exist.

When something comes between summer and winter, it’s something special. Summer has come and gone and now winter has arrived. The weather is near perfect, the autumn foliage is magical, HALLOWEEN and fashion is the best and the food is mouth-watering.

Ladies... Chunky knit wear As the wind picks, you need a protection from these elements. Designers are providing you with tons of options to cuddle, keep warm and look stylish in.

Ignore the chilly presence of autumn and don’t let the cold ruin your fun. We know dressing for the cold can be a challenge but just how do you keep warm and look great? Here are this months pick for the stars that will take you from your lectures to work and everywhere in between.

Shearling Coats

Anything brown...

If you buy a coat this autumn make sure it’s a shearling one. For those 5-and-below-degree weathers, there is nothing better to keep you warm than a Shearling coat. There are so many styles and designers to choose from, you won’t run out of favourites to choose from.

Keeping up with the love of all things, one colour autumn loves is brown. The leaves are brown, nature is brown but it’s only right you liven it up with another rich colour like Maroon or Copper.

Lads...

Baggy trousers

Square patterns Whether big bold blocks of colour or patches on jeans, squares are EVERYWHERE on the catwalk. From designers such as Giorgio Armani, Paul Smith, Agi & Sam and Kolor. Flowers and butterflies aren’t the only patters this season.

When the weather gets cooler and the urge for pies and comfort food hits this autumn, you must eat in order to stay healthy and keep moving. Autumn is the season of deep green, dark yellow and orange.

Trousers are becoming higher and far looser cut after seasons of slimmer trousers.

Anything grey... Popular on the catwalk and not too unusual for the cold weather. Anything from tailoring to tracksuit bottoms will work this season 1) Parsnips - Contains Vitamins and Minerals. 2) Figs - Very high in Fibre. 3) Apples - rich in important antioxidants. 4) Pears - provide a good source of fibre. 5) Cranberries - gives you lower risk of types cancer, decreased blood pressure. 6) Clementine - rich in vital nutrients such as minerals.
