Tai Chi
Tuesdays, July 25 to September 12 - 5.30pm to 6.30pm
Thursdays, July 20 to September 14 - 10am to 11am | Cost: $10 per session. Bookings preferred. Relax, recharge and rejuvenate in a session for all ages. Clear your mind and energise your body as you experience ancient, simple Tai Chi moving meditations drawn from nature. Highly qualified tutor Carol Smith will guide you through the sessions and ensure you have fun while building core strength. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a drink bottle.
Safe Seats, Safe Kids Program
Tuesday, July 25, August 22 and September 26 | 10am to 2pm | Cost: Free. Bookings required. Is your child travelling safely? 70 per cent of child car restraints are incorrectly installed or used, posing a serious safety risk to children travelling in those restraints. Parents and carers (including grandparents!) can book in a free child car restraint fitting or check. Quilters Connect 4 A Cause

Friday Playgroup

Friday morning playgroup offers a relaxing, friendly and joyful environment for our children. We welcome all families to come and enjoy a cuppa, meet other families, while the kids get to play.

If you haven’t camped at a folk festival, you may have missed out on the campfire circle experience where people take turns around the circle to share a little about themselves. What is Auslan?

What is Auslan? Come along to learn Australian Sign Language. You will leave this introductory workshop knowing the alphabet, colours, and numbers, and with the ability to ask and answer simple questions. Participants are welcome to attend another of the scheduled workshops to build on the skills acquired in the first workshop to learn how to tell a simple story, expand on vocabulary, and play games.

Allow your children to learn the basics of first aid with local trainer Andrew Bishop from Regional Emergency Training. Children will learn the basics of what to do in an emergency. This will be a fun session that will support your child’s first aid journey.

Baranduda Playgroup

Make new friends, develop social skills and, of course, have fun! This is a great opportunity for parents, grandparents, carers and guardians to have a cuppa and meet others in an informal setting. Drop into Baranduda Community Centre and relax with a cuppa, enjoy an activity or game, or bring a project to complete. With space to play, camaraderie and friendship, why not come along and meet others in the community? Attend one or attend them all, this is a relaxed environment and all are welcome to drop in at any time during the sessions. Tea, coffee and morning tea provided. Children’s Sewing with Mary
Beginners level: Wednesday, July 12 and 19 | 4pm to 6pm
Intermediate level: Wednesday, August 2, 16, 30 and September 13 | 4pm to 6pm
Cost: $10 per child, per session. | Ages: Eight plus. Bookings required.
These workshops for children provide the opportunity to learn life skills they can use for years to come. The sessions are led by home economics teacher and member of the Country Women’s Association, Mary Grant. The first two sessions are aimed at beginners who can then attend the further four sessions aimed at intermediate level sewers.
Movement to Music with Murray Conservatorium
Wednesdays fortnightly - July 12 and 26, August 9 and 23, September 6 | 9am to 10am
Cost: $10 per session, $5 per sibling. Free under 12 months. Bookings required.
The Murray Conservatorium will deliver a child-centred and play-based program allowing children to be actively engaged in their musical learning. Children will be exposed to a variety of instruments and will have the ongoing opportunity to play, sing and move to a variety of music.
Folk Art for Beginners
Thursdays weekly from July 13 to September 14 | 12.30pm to 3pm | Cost: $10 per person, per session. Full term payment required unless otherwise agreed upon. Bookings required. Create your own folk art masterpiece with guidance from Baranduda artist Wendy Cummins. By the end of the first term, participants will have developed the basic brush techniques to create daisy paintings. Acrylic paint will be used on a variety of surfaces such as canvas, pottery, metal and more. Come along and be the creative painter you’ve always wanted to be in a supportive and friendly environment. Anyone can paint if they are just shown how.
