THE EXCHANGE Project ”Start-up it ” was written and invented by 36 young people from Ukraine and Poland, who represent non-governmental organization ”Chernihiv European” and Initiatives Mine Foundation. Youth were in the age from 18-24 years old. Main aim of the project was to increase practical knowlegde about how to be successul in social entrepreneurship and to gain knowledge about corporate social responsibility. We were debating, discussing, creating our new local initiatives and gaining knowledge from invited experts. We collaborated with local entrepreneurs to exchange knowledge and talk with them about social change that they can make using their bisiness and ideas coming from CSR. Participants had a chance to meet local entrepreneurs and experts in social economy and CSR. Our schedule contained: meetings, debates, workshop sessions, happening. Meeting was based on non formal methods of learning.

THE EXCHANGE The methods used during the project were energizers, ice-breakers, communication games, activities for exploring and sharing; coaching sessions; reflection and self-reflection; open space and others; group discussions, creativity exercises etc.

During the visit, we were introduced to the topic of "proenvironmetal attitudes and corporatesocial responsibility among the Malopolska enterprises". During the presentation we got to know what the term "CSR" means, why it is so important.

CSR

Corporate Social Responsibility is the responsibility of enterprises for their impact on society.

Why is it so important?

In the interest of enterprises - benefits to companies in risk management, cost savings, access to capital, customer relationships, HR management, and their ability to innovate.

In the interest of the EU economy -makes companies more sustainable and innovative, which contributes to a more sustainable economy.

In the interests of society- offers a set of values on which we can build a more cohesive society and base thetransition to a sustainable economic system.

SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP To discover what 'Social Entrepreneurship' is we explored main issues connected with the topic.

Who is the father/promoter of social entrepreneurship? William "Bill" Drayton is a social entrepreneur. Drayton was named by U.S. News & World Report as one of America's 25 Best Leaders in 2005. He is responsible for the rise of the phrase

"social

a

concept first found in print in 1972. As a student, he founded organizations ranging

Services to Harvard’s Ashoka Table, an inter-disciplinary weekly forum in the social sciences. He launched Ashoka in 1981. He used the stipend received when elected a MacArthur Fellow in 1984 to devote himself fully to Ashoka.

SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP What is Ashoka? Ashoka (Ashoka: Innovators of the Public) is an international organization that promotes social entrepreneurship by affiliating individual social entrepreneurs into the Ashoka organization. Their stated mission is "to shape a global, entrepreneurial, competitive citizen sector: one that allows social entrepreneurs to thrive and enables the world's citizens to think and act as changemakers"

SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP What the term "Social entrepreneurship" mans?

Social entrepreneurship is the use of the techniques by start up companies and other entrepreneurs to develop, fund and implement solutions to social, cultural, or environmental issues. This concept may be applied to a variety of organizations with different sizes, aims, and beliefs. For-profit entrepreneurs typically measure performance using business metrics like profit, revenues and increases in stock prices, but social entrepreneurs are either non-profits or blend for-profit goals with generating a positive "return to society" and therefore must use different metrics. Social entrepreneurship typically attempts to further broad social, cultural, and environmental goals often associated with the voluntary sector in areas such as poverty alleviation, health care and community development.
