GOLF SHOP NEWS: Reminder about Golf policies
Club Polices for Golf
A goal of the Club is to remain relevant and fair with established rules and enforcement. Through Monday Emails and Monthly Newsletters, members have periodically received reminders on some of the Club policies for golf. But, as we head into more active months at the Club this year, it is a good idea to review all these policies. Please take a few moments to familiarize yourselves with the list below:
Pace of Play
Four-hour maximum for 18 holes, 2-hours for 9 holes. Keep moving at a good pace. Faster groups should always be invited through, provided there is space ahead.
Golf Course Care
• Course care is every member’s responsibility.
• Please fix all your ball marks and fill in your divots while playing your rounds.
• Rake sand bunkers, and leave rakes on edge of the bunker with head in & handle out.
• These repairs, if enacted quickly, heal much faster than those left unattended.
Golf Cart Access
• Each cart operator must be at least 16 years of age and have a valid driver's license.
• No more than two people per cart.
• Respect all maintenance direction signs and roped-off areas. If none are indicated, keep carts at least 40 feet from all greens, bunkers and tees (20 feet for handicapped golfers).
• Golf carts must always remain on the cart path on all Par 3’s.
• The Golf Course Superintendent may restrict golf carts to paths for all golfers at any time based on course conditions.
Golf Dress Code
Golf attire required for members and guests of all ages while on the golf course or practice areas:
• Men: Collared or mock turtleneck golf shirts required; golf slacks or mid-thigh shorts.
• Women: Must wear tops, blouses, skirts, shorts or slacks consistent with accepted golf tournament attire.
Inappropriate Golf Attire:
• Fitness/athletic apparel including yoga, jogging, sweat pants or warm-up wear.
• Garments with large logo’s on front or back.
• Sleeveless tops for women with ‘spaghetti’ straps.
• Tee shirts, tank/tube/or halter tops.
• Denim of any kind.
• Shoes with metal spikes.
• Swim or bathing attire .
• Flip-flops or sandals.
• Caps worn backwards or sideways.
Self-Monitoring
• Golf in general relies significantly on the principle of self-policing.
• Members are expected to know and apply Club policies to themselves.
• Awareness and accountability are key aspects of Club culture.
Your cooperation is appreciated! Please inquire at the Golf Shop for clarification of golf policies.

Last Month’s Question –
In Four Ball Stroke Play, the “Side” (player A & player B) must enter a gross score for each hole on the scorecard. Which of the following is incorrect?
• The gross score of at least one partner must be entered on the scorecard.
• There is no penalty for entering more than one partner’s score on the scorecard.
• Each score on the scorecard must be clearly identified as the score of the individual partner who made it; if this is not done, the side is disqualified.
• It is enough to identify a score as the score of the side in general.
Answer –
It is NOT enough to identify a score as the score of the side in general. Each score on the scorecard must be clearly identified as the score of the individual partner who made it; if this is not done, the side is disqualified.
This Month’s Question –
In individual stroke play, there is never a penalty if two players agree to play out of turn. True or False?
