Club News

From The Desk of Patrick Lucas

On behalf of the management and service team, we welcome you to the 2015 golf season! Our goal is to create a welcoming atmosphere for each and every member by providing some of the finest country club amenities, coupled with professional and friendly service. As we enter the 2015 season, we hope that you will be pleased with the selection of golf and social events we have planned. Woodcrest seeks to build an experience that matches your interests and needs and allows you to maximize your membership to its fullest potential. This spring we will be creating a golf and social committe for those who would like to get involved. Back for its second season, Bar 1929 will be operating as a full service restaurant under Executive Chef Michael Ince and Food and Beverage Director George Jordan. We hope that the newly crafted menu will appeal to all members and the public alike. The Woodcrest team is consistently hard at work servicing private events led by Ida Fraser, our Event Sales Coordinator and Stephanie Bacon, Banquet Coordinator. If you are interested in holding a private event at the club, please do not hesitate to reach out to any of our team members. We look forward to seeing you frequently this season and for many more to come! Your experience as a member is our greatest priority, so please do not hesitate to contact me with any ideas, questions or concerns. Sincerely,

Patrick Lucas

Woodcrest Country Club 3.

Pro Shop UPDATE Finally, the golf season has arrived! We would like to send a warm welcome to new members and a “welcome back to everyone else. The golf course is open daily, 8am - 6pm weather permitting. We are looking forward to another great season here at Woodcrest. Along with Jay Curry and myself, I am happy to announce the return of Jamie Shaffer to our teaching program. We hope that you are all as excited for the season as we are. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the Pro Shop. Thanks, Bill Torlucci & Jay Curry

Tournament Schedule

GAP Team Anyone interested in competing on our GAP Team should contact the Pro Shop. The match dates are April 19, April 26th and May 3rd. The away team will play at Running Deer, Riverton and Sea Oaks.

A full tournament schedule for both men and women golfers has been created for the 2015 season. A great way to start the season and meet new members is at our Spring Kick Off on Saturday, April 25th. A scramble format is planned and both men and women are encouraged to participate. The day will begin with a buffet breakfast at 7:30am followed by a shotgun start at 9:00am. The sign-up for this event is in the Pro Shop.

GHIN Handicaps

Tee Times

Woodcrest is pleased to announce that golfers can walk the course after 11:00 am, 7 days a week. You have a choice of carrying your clubs or using a pull cart.

All members may book tee times up to two weeks in advance by calling the Pro Shop. When booking tee times, please have the names of all players in your group available. This will allow us to better serve you. 4. Woodcrest Word, April 2015

Starting April 1st, all golfers can start posting scores for handicap purposes. Golfers may post their scores online or on the computer in the Pro Shop.

New Walking Hours

Ladies Golf Ladies Opening Day is scheduled for Tuesday, May 5th. A continental breakfast will be served at 8:00am followed by a 9:00am shotgun start. A season of events has been created for those who would like to compete in weekly tournaments. The schedule will be posted in the Ladies Locker Room.

Men’s League The sign-up sheet for Men’s League is posted in the Men’s Locker Room. The team draft is Wednesday, April 15th at 6:00 pm in Bar 1929. Food and beverages will be available. A fee of $200 includes weekly prizes, team shirts and an end of the year cash payout. Call the Pro Shop with any questions.

Teaching Room New Software We are upgrading our software program to Club Systems. You may notice a change in your billing towards the end of the month. A new website and member portal is also scheduled for release the beginning of May.

As you may have noticed, we have expanded the golf training room located in the cart barn. It is an ideal space and will also serve as other uses in the future like: a pre-function area for golf outings and aerobic or fitness classes.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Pro Shop 856-428-1243 or ProShop@WoodcrestCountryClub.com

Bar 1929 Bar 1929 is now open daily 11am - 7pm for lunch and dinner. Thank you to everyone who dined with us during our soft opening on Thursday, April 2nd. We are committed to providing our members with the best dining experience possible. We welcome any comments or suggestions and appreciate the feedback!
