We're Ready! Are you?

club NEWS Dear Woodcrest Members, I would like to welcome everyone to the 2019 season here at Woodcrest! There have been many new and exciting things going on at the Club during the off-season. First and foremost, I am excited to report that our membership family continues to grow, with 50 new members joining since November. On behalf of the entire team, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of our new members. We have been very busy making upgrades to the golf course over the winter with numerous capital projects. Some of these include installing comprehensive drainage to the 9th approach, final construction and grow-in of the new 19th hole and practice area, as well as tree pruning and removal. We are currently working on the construction of all new greens bunkers on holes 1, 8, 11, and 14, including new sand, drainage and shaping. We hope to have the new bunkers sodded by April 1st and open for play by May 1st, weather depending. Jason Howard, our new Director of Golf, has been very active getting the Golf Shop and his team ready for a fantastic year, with a lot of great additions to the program. If you have not yet met Jason and the new members of his team, make sure you stop by and say hello. Please join us on Tuesday, April 9th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. for our Membership Appreciation Night in the Club Bar. It’s a great time to come out and get to know members, both new and old, as well as the Woodcrest Team. Please keep in mind that our New-Member referral program continues for the remainder of the season. Both the newsletter and website have additional information on the referral program as well as membership offerings, should you know someone who may be interested in joining. For those members who elected to pay their 2019 membership in 3-installments, the first installment was due on February 28. The second installment will be due on April 30, and the final installment is due on June 30. Please note that individuals who are not current with these payments will not have active member privileges, including access to the golf facilities. We are making tremendous investments in the Club for your enjoyment and your continued support and understanding of our policies is greatly appreciated. On behalf of the entire WCC Team, I thank you for your support and help in making Woodcrest the special place that it is. If there is anything I can ever do for you or your guests, please feel free to call or email me. I would be glad to help in any way I can. After a cold wet winter, I’m really looking forward to sunnier and warmer weather, and especially seeing each one of you enjoying Woodcrest and the great things it has to offer. Kind regards,

Patrick Lucas Director of Operations

Socially Speaking... By George Jordan, Director of Food & Beverage I always get excited when March 1st rolls around, as it typically means winter is pretty much over and the golf season can begin. A warm welcome back to our members! Soon, the trees and grass will turn green and our golf course will be teeming with happy golfers. I am anticipating a terrific year full of great social activities, amazing golf and swimming. The Food & Beverage Department has had a very busy winter. Woodcrest has become the premier spot in South Jersey to host social events. We are booked throughout 2019 with a variety of weddings, mitzvahs, golf outings and private events. Kudos to the entire Food & Beverage Department for their continued hard work and dedication in making Woodcrest the number one wedding and event venue. We are very excited about the renovations that have taken place over the winter. We installed beautiful dark hardwood flooring in the Club Bar, Fountain Ballroom and Flynn Ballroom. Woodcrest continually receives great reviews not only on our food and service but also on the aesthetics of the club. We are grateful to the Haydinger family for their constant upgrading and maintenance of the facility. Bar 1929 has reopened as of March 1st. We are serving lunch from 11:00 am until 5:00pm Tuesday through Sunday. Please check out our new winter lunch menu featuring a new selection of signature pizzas. Join us for Sunday Brunch from 9:00am until 2:00pm for great fare and Mimosa pitchers. Friday night live will continue upstairs in the club bar throughout March. Come May, we will move back to the Bar 1929 deck. Please join us for these upcoming events: Tuesday, April 9th Member Appreciation Night Friday & Saturday, April 19th & 20th Passover Seder Dinner Sunday, April 21st Easter Sunday Brunch Friday, May 3rd Night with Sinatra Sunday, May 12th Mother’s Day Brunch Friday, May 31st Comedy Night Wednesday theme dinners and Bar 1929 weekday specials will resume in May. We hope to see each and every one of you at the many social events and dining in Bar 1929 this season. It is important that you register for all member events as soon as you know you would like to attend to ensure a spot. We do not like to turn members away but we only have so much capacity. Also, it is very important that you make reservations for dinner so we are prepared with staff and can manage the kitchen better. Remember, we need the participation of the all members to make these events and Bar 1929 successful!! The events are always more fun when you are there!!
