Happy Holidays!

Stop in the club after December 10th to view all of our beautiful holiday decor!

club NEWS Dear Woodcrest Members,

December 2018

On behalf of the Woodcrest Country Club Team, I would like to thank each and every one of you for your continued support. I am pleased to announce that we had over 220 members and guests that attended our Member Appreciation Night and close to 300 for Thanksgiving. Be sure to book your reservations for the Storytime and Brunch with Santa on December 16th. Reservations are filling up quickly, so don’t be left out in the cold. On another note, please take advantage of the Early Pay Membership Dues Incentive which ends December 15th. In order to receive the incentive you must be paid in full by the 15th, not have any outstanding balances and must be a member in good standing. Don’t forget our Member Referral Program which continues through the spring of 2019 so take advantage of the incentive. For those of you who would rather pay in installments, we have the 3-pay installment plan for 2019, with payments due on February 28th, April 30th and June 30th. You will be billed accordingly. I am happy to report our membership continues to grow and flourish with 20 new members joining the club since the middle of October. Both the website and newsletter have additional information on memberships for your review. If you have any questions, please feel free to call Julie Foran, Member and Client Relations. I am excited to announce that Jason Howard, First Assistant Golf Pro from Tavistock, joined the Woodcrest Team on November 26th. Please welcome Jason to the club and feel free to stop by the Pro Shop and introduce yourselves. Jason’s email address is jhoward@woodcrestcountryclub.com if you would like to say hello or have any questions for him. He is looking forward to getting to know everyone. During the off-season, we will be busy with many capital projects and updates to the golf course. Some of the highlights are as follows: Complete bunker reconstruction on greens #1, #8 and #11. We will also be installing a comprehensive drainage system in #9 approach, as well as the new chipping green and #19 practice hole. This will go a long way in helping to remove excess water more quickly in an area of the course that has historically been a major drainage issue. We will also be working on cart paths, tree removal and pruning. Lastly, as I am sure everyone has heard, Bill Torlucci, our Director of Golf, is retiring at the end of this year. On behalf of Woodcrest, I want to thank Billy for his many outstanding years of service, dedication and hard work. We will be having a retirement party for Billy on December 10th from 6-9pm. Reservations are required by December 5th. Please join us in celebrating Billy’s retirement. We wish him and his wonderful wife Kathy all the best in their future endeavors. I wish you all and your families a wonderful and safe Holiday Season and a Happy New Year. If there is ever anything I can every do for you, please don’t hesitate to let me know. I look forward to a fantastic 2019 season. Kind regards,

Patrick Lucas Director of Operations

3. Woodcrest Word, Holiday Edition 2018

Welcome

Jason Howard , PGA Dear Members, It is a pleasure and dream come true to introduce myself to you as the next Director of Golf at Woodcrest Country Club. I have worked in the golf industry since I was fifteen years old and my passion and appreciation—both for the game and all who play it—run deep. My family and I are beyond grateful for this opportunity to join the WCC community and are excited to hit the ground running. Although the winter season is upon us and weather conditions on the golf course grow colder by the day, I am excited to meet all the new faces of Woodcrest before a chilly round of golf, in the shop, around the club, or at Bar 1929. Talking with each of you will help me understand what makes Woodcrest Country Club the special place it is. During my first couple months, I’m looking forward to meeting as many members and staff as possible. My door is always open and you will see me preparing for next season and readying the golf shop, among other things – please feel free to stop by and say “hello.” I welcome your ideas, your suggestions, your stories about Woodcrest, your feedback, and anything else that can make your experience here at WCC even more enjoyable. A special thank you is in order to Bill Torlucci for his many years of service and contribution to Woodcrest Country Club. We are all wishing him a wonderful retirement. Bill and I will be working together for the next month, and I am eager to learn the Woodcrest ropes from him. I am especially thankful to Bill, Patrick, and the staff for helping me get acclimated. The team is looking forward to 2019 and some exciting developments we will be able to share with you over the course of the year! I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season. If there is anything that myself or the WCC Golf Staff can do for you, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.

Jason Howard, PGA Director of Golf 856-429-4300 x192 JHoward@WoodcrestCountryClub.com

Socially Speaking... By George Jordan, Director of Food & Beverage

Dear Woodcrest Members, Unbelievable that this year has blown by as quickly as it has. Another hugely successful year for us here in the Food & Beverage Department. Banquet sales and events continue to grow! Woodcrest has received so many stellar reviews this year. Thank you to our executive chef, Abe Foy and his culinary team, our sales team, Nikki, Lauren and Nicole and all the employees that help to make Woodcrest the best. We will continue to elevate this club to higher and higher levels. This year has been filled with many changes in Bar 1929 and hopefully we enhanced the member experience. Like always, we owe our successes to all of you, the members at WCC. We thank all of you who continue to support the club. If there is ever anything that you feel can be done better to enhance your experience I am always open to suggestions and ways to improve. I look forward to another wonderful year serving you. As for the end of 2018 please join us for the remaining events planned. We have Billy's Retirement Party next Monday, December 10th from 6pm - 9pm and we hope you will all be able to join us. We wish Billy the best as he enters a new chapter of his life. We also have Storytime and Brunch with Santa on Sunday, December 16th. Seatings are at 10:30am and 11:00am, be sure to make your reservations before December 12th. After the holidays in mid-January we will resume Friday Night Live upstairs in the Club Bar.
