club NEWS Dear Members, On behalf of Woodcrest Country Club, I would like to give you a quick update on the exciting things happening here at the club. The mild winter has given us a great opportunity to tackle several renovation projects on the golf course. For those who played the course during the recent beautiful February weather, you may have noticed a variety of the improvements such as tree work, cart paths, irrigation, drainage, and tee construction. Many of these projects are now being sodded. We will continue the golf course enhancements well into the spring, which should set us up very nicely for a fantastic golf season. The recent spell of warm weather has allowed us to use the new golf carts for the first time, which has been a great addition to the overall golf experience. Members have given the new carts high marks. They are a dramatic improvement over the older fleet. In the clubhouse, we have received rave reviews about the upgrades that have been completed so far this winter. By the end of February, we will have finished painting the second floor of the clubhouse and will continue painting downstairs to include hallways, bathrooms, and locker rooms. In mid-February, new carpet was installed throughout the Pro Shop, hallway, and stairs up to the second floor. These projects have really enhanced the club’s ambience and presentation. The Golf and Social Committees met recently and will be working hard creating event and tournament schedules, as well as policies to foster a higher level of participation and member enjoyment for the upcoming season. I would like to thank both committees for their efforts and I look forward to working together to create a more inclusive and vibrant club atmosphere. Our membership growth continues to be strong and I anticipate even more growth in 2017. Please take advantage of our new member incentive which offers a 10% food and beverage credit for new member referrals. Refer to details of the member incentive program in this newsletter. George Jordan and his sales team are eager to assist you in the planning of your special event from beginning to end. Whether it’s a wedding, bat or bar mitzvah, shower, corporate or charity event, please be sure to reach out to George and his team to help make your event an extraordinary and memorable one. I thank you for being a part of the growing Woodcrest family. If there is every anything I can do for you, please do not hesitate to let me know. Kind regards,

Patrick Lucas Director of Operations

Pro Shop UPDATE It seems the golf season has arrived in the winter month of February, we hope most of you can make it out to enjoy this bonus weather and get a jump start on the 2017 season!

GHIN Handicaps – Starting April 1st, all golfers can start posting scores for handicap purposes. Golfers may post their scores online or on the computer in the Pro Shop.

We like to send a heartfelt welcome to new members and a “welcome back” to everyone else. We are all enthusiastic for the 2017 season with the arrival of new carts, an ongoing list of improvements to the golf course, and updates in the clubhouse with new carpets and paint. We are looking forward to another fantastic season here at Woodcrest.

Tee Times - As you all know tee times are the foundation of our effort to make your day at Woodcrest an enjoyable one. Here are a few reminders that well help keep our goal of a 4 hour to 4 hour and 20 minutes maximum round of golf:

Let the preparation commence as the 2017 Golf Tournament Schedule is now located on the Woodcrest website under the “Member Central” tab. Please make sure to review the tournaments and mark them down in your calendar so you can take advantage of participating in the exciting events this year. We want to point out that the Wednesday Night Men’s League Draft is scheduled for Wednesday April 26th at 6:00 pm, please make sure to sign up in the men’s locker room if you would like to participate this year. A fee of $200.00 includes weekly prizes, team shirts, and an end of the year cash payout. In addition, if you are interested in playing in the GAP matches please let the golf shop know if you would like to play for the home or away team as the dates are 4/23, 4/30, and 5/7. This year the away team will be playing at Seaview, Merchantville, and Ramblewood.

• Be ready for your tee time! Please arrive 15-20 minutes prior to your scheduled tee time. • Particulary during peak times, play in foursomes when possible. • When booking your tee times, please provide the names of all players We hope to have resolved the issue with booking online tee times as the system will now recognize the member, spouse, and dependent children for those that have Husband/Wife and Family Memberships. As always we would like to hear any feedback from all of our members on what they would like to see in the 2017 season at Woodcrest Country Club. If you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to let us know! We are always available via email, phone, or stop by and see us in the golf shop. Respectfully, Woodcrest Golf Staff Bill Torlucci, Jay Curry, Zak Smith and Frank Tinney

We are not playing around anymore! In an effort to remove

geese from the golf course, we’ve brought in the big gun, aka The Goosinator. The Goosinator will be dispatched on a moment’s notice to scare away our geese and prevent them from coming back. For those members who don’t like to stay on the cart paths on (cart path only days), beware of the Goosinator!

YamaTrack Mobile App Advisory Golf Committee Update Last month, the Woodcrest Advisory Golf Committee held their first meeting for the 2017 season. Sy Mogell, Chair of the Committee, would like to thank all of the members and staff who have generously volunteered their time to serve our club. The first meeting contributed many fantastic ideas and helped form and finalize our Member Tournament Schedule. We are excited to announce the men’s member guest event will be returning for 2 days, September 8th & 9th.

An added bonus to our new fleet of carts is access to the YamaTrack Mobile App! Smart phone users can download the app for free and use it as a golf gps while they play their round. While playing, the YamaTrack Player App provides you accurate distances from tee to green and all points in between. Simply touch any point on the course map and this app will tell you the distance to that point from your current location as well as the distance from that point to the hole. The staff in the Pro Shop will be happy to help, if you have any questions!

We are looking forward to seeing more members at our golf events this year and out on the course!
