The “Freedom” Fashion Show & Art Event

Presents:

up in the Air Show Program - March 21, 2013

Welcome to

Up in the Air This event was organized and implemented in less than 11-weeks! Not a small feat with a slimmer-than-slim budget, limited staff, and most student’s time split in many directions. But alas, here we are, sharing our efforts and appreciation for all those who worked to make this event happen, and for all of you whom are here to witness the fruits of our labor.

Enjoy the show! S

Congratulation! Future Fashion Marketers

Runway Order Segment One

Speakeasy

Designs by Coral Jacobson Recycling and repurposing are fundamental with these designs. And with a nod to the 1920’s flapper; vintage lingerie, buttons, feathers, and a variety of found objects are transformed into 10-outifts that are sure to become “a girls best friend.”

Segment Two

Unitribe

Designs by Woody Anthony Uniformity. Universality. Unification. United. Unisex. Taking the direction of de-evolution and looking back at the earliest of human civilization; this collection of 15-looks explores what could become fashion in a one-government, future society.

Segment Three

Attitude Adjustment

Designs by the Fashion Show Production Class White t-shirts, black paint, and a few embellishments ignite to take drab to fab. Try it at home! Match these t’s with skirt designs constructed from recycled soft goods, and you have a line of 10-ideas that are uniquely creative.

Segment Four

Express Thyself

Styling by the Fashion Show Production Class Fashion is often about expressing ones “viewpoint”, and our fashion students are passionate about it. Here are 6-student “viewpoints” pulling together their favorite finds: (1) Sara Wolf - ‘merica; (2) Adrian Abesamis - Shear Genius; (3) Candice Guruwaiya - Street Chic; (4) Justine Mojica - Graced by Lace; (5) Katelyn Dubose - Feathers & Sweaters; (6) Jessica Thompson - In the Garden

A Place Where Creativity Never Goes Out of Style The Art Institute of California— Silicon Valley, a campus of Argosy University is an institution for career preparation in the art, design, media, and culinary-related fields. Each program is offered on a year-round basis, allowing students to continue to work uninterrupted toward their degrees. An impressive faculty of working professionals strives to strengthen students' skills and to cultivate their talents through well-designed curricula. Programs are carefully defined with contributions from the professional community. Curricula are reviewed regularly to ensure they meet the needs of a changing marketplace to prepare graduates to seek entry-level positions in their chosen fields. The Art Institute of California— Silicon Valley opened its location and began enrollment for classes in 2008. In 2012, the eight Art Institute of California campuses (San Diego, Los Angeles, Hollywood, Inland Empire, Orange County, San Francisco, Sacramento, and Silicon Valley) combined to create a single college of art and design within the Argosy University system, known as The Art Institute of California—a college of Argosy University. As part of the transition, The Art Institute of California campuses changed their national accreditation to regional accreditation status. Argosy University is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Senior Colleges and Universities of the Western Association of Colleges and Schools (985 Atlantic Avenue, Suite 100, Alameda, California, 94501, (http://www. wascsenior.org).
