Wild Coast Jikeleza Festival. The best family-fun festival in the Eastern Cape where you can touch an elephant, eyeball a cheetah and go on a mini-game drive at no extra charge. There are craft & boutique stalls, a tea garden, an art gallery and a fashion show on offer as well as a beer garden, rugby on the big screen and live music to be enjoyed. Miss Wild Coast Jikeleza Competition including a Wild Coast Jikeleza Chef cook-off and potjie competition. Kids will be busy for hours taking advantage of the mini quad bike rides, jumping castle, Giant Slide, face-painting, lead rein horse rides, paintball, biscuit decorating, Magic Show, Andre the Hilarious Hypnotist and more! Winter School Holidays. Go GREEN when everything else looks BROWN! July is so cool AND in more ways than one! Just as you have added another blanket or duvet to your bed.... so too does your garden bed need warming up and protection....add a layer of compost or mulch 3-5cm thick (at least!) Spread the compost around on top of the soil, but away from stems & trunks of plants. While you do this you may feel the need to plant some pretty little flowers ... add colour with trays of seedlings. Seedlings are young plants that usually come in trays of 4 or 6 or 12. Seedlings give your garden a boost of colour and variety without you having to raid your piggy bank! Look at the area you want to brighten up and see if it is in the sun or shade, perhaps you need something tall and pretty at the back (like cosmos) and some low growing alyssum, dianthus or vygies in the front!
