There will be lucky draws, plenty of good laughs and fellowship and most important of all, you get to support East London’s newest animal welfare charity. The Areena Downwind is a dry start and then into the ocean and only surf ski’s are allowed to participate. The race takes competitors all the way from either Nahoon Beach or Cefani Beach, (depending on the

wind direction), to the Kwelera River Mouth, where they battle it out on the river, (flat water section) to the finish at the Areena Riverside Resort. Each year there is a great dice and changeover of leaders from the mouth to the finish, as the river skills and tide start to take over. This event plays a significant role in growing the sport. The Trail Run at Areena which follows the same route as the mountain bike challenge, through the game park’s rugged terrain is a true trail run. The Mountain Bike Challenge at Areena takes place through the rugged terrain of the game park which is a great test to the cyclist stamina and fitness.
