A Welcome to the newly designed Aktuellt the official newsletter of the 22nd World Scout Jamboree. Here you can find all the news and updates about what is happening in preparation for the Jamboree and what will happen in Sweden in 2011.
News Asia-Pacific Regional Conference Over 50 countries attended the Asia-Pacific Conference, half of them from the Asia-Pacific Region, and so did the Jamboree team. After a week full of meetings, promoting the event and talking to different countries and cultures, Marie Reinicke, Chairman for the Jamboree Executive Team, said: ”We are happy and satisfied. We have learned a lot this week.” One of the highlights was meeting the participants of the Youth Forum, who were enthusiastic and curious about the Jamboree. They were happy to share their expectations and excitement with the team about 2011!
Africa Regional Conference Following the Asia-Pacific Conference, the team headed for Accra, Ghana to talk about the Jamboree at the Africa Regional Conference. After TV interviews, a Head of Contingents’ meeting and a presentation by Chairman, Marie Reinicke, and Jamboree Executive Director, Göran Hägerdal, there was a great buzz about the Jamboree, making the trip a big success!
Asia-Pacific Regional Jamboree The Jamboree team also spent time at the 26th Asia-Pacific Regional (APR) Jamboree, at Mt Makiling in the Philippines. They were there to promote the World Scout Jamboree and to study and learn from how the APR Jamboree was organised. It was a fantastic camp and they had a great time speaking to many of the 14,000 participants, IST

and leaders. They ran an exhibition about the Jamboree in the APR Village, one of the programme modules where contingents from the region could promote their country. In addition to finding out about the Jamboree, many participants also dared to taste some typical Swedish candies, “Djungelvrål” and “Ahlgrens Bilar”, with varying reactions. When in Sweden in 2011, make sure you try them too!
Swedish Government Supports International Scouting The Swedish Government has given SEK 15 million to the Swedish Scout Movement for the organisation of the Jamboree. This contribution will help to ensure the participants really have the experience of a lifetime!
Next stop: European Scout and Guide Conference: 17-21 July 2010, Brussels, Belgium The 13th World Scout Moot: 27 July - 7 August 2010, Nairobi, Kenya.

The theme for this Jamboree is “Simply Scouting.” This means working together, laughing together, learning from each other, contributing to our own development and that of society as a whole. Simply all the things Scouts have been doing for the past 100 years that have created such a rich and diverse educational youth movement. However, this adventure will also be different from anything experienced so far; we’re working hard to make this Jamboree an unforgettable event for everyone. Throughout the camp and in every moment of daily life, Scouts will develop new skills and share their knowledge and experiences whilst working towards greater international understanding. Doing what we love best: Simply Scouting! Within the theme there are three important concepts that will be present in every aspect of the Jamboree: meetings, nature and solidarity.
