Make the most of your time with us There will be two lively and interactive sessions per subject starting at 5.15 - 5.55pm and 6.10 - 6.45pm with the exception of Performing Arts - which is one performance starting at 5.15pm for one hour.

Come along to this session and find out about the dynamic, ever evolving environment that is Business Studies.

Finance What’s the point in studying personal financial capability?

The average person will be 38 years old by the time they achieve the necessary deposit to buy their first home and on an average UK salary of £26,500, it’s going to be tough for our young people in uncertain economic times. By understanding the financial issues that people encounter throughout their lives, this course prepares students to face the challenges of creating wealth to pay essential bills and accomplish long-term future aspirations. Experience a taster lesson exploring the reasons why people experience bad debt and the solutions for dealing with it.

Economics An interactive introduction to the fundamental economic problem.

Experience a typical lesson in Economics. You will be working in small teams, use your decision making skills, question choices made, use economic theory and start to understand what Economics is all about.

Travel & Tourism Working in the Travel & Tourism industry - one of the world’s major employers.

Travel & Tourism is the largest and most diverse industry in the world. Examples of jobs available include working as a ski rep in the Swiss Alps, entertaining travellers on the largest cruise line in the world or handling bookings at a major luxury tour operator. Find out how this course will provide you with the knowledge, skills and attributes needed to become part of this exciting business sector.

Geography Exploring the links between human and physical geography – Haiti 8 years on. This session will explore the reasons for the long-term impacts of the Haitian earthquake in 2010. Were human or physical factors to blame? Was the devastation the fault of the government? Could the huge death toll have been prevented? You decide! Come along to find out more.

Event Environmental Science How could climate change affect the animals in the Amazon Rainforest?

In this session we will look at how changes in climate, temperature and seasons could have an impact on the carrying capacity of different ecosystems and which are going to be “winners” and which will be “losers”. We will explore the impacts of a changed carrying capacity on these different ecosystems and their food.

Languages Fiestas and traditions in The Hispanisc World and France

Come along and get involved with our interactive session in French and Spanish. Do you know how a 15 year girl celebrates her birthday in Mexico?, What is “La tomatina”?, How they celebrate L’ Epiphanie in France? Learn about the Nice Carnival.

Visual Arts & Media Get Creative

Are you looking to study Fine Art, Graphic Communication, Textiles, Photography, Film, or Media next year? If you are, join us in for a collaborative Art and Design activity, to include drawing, photography, film making, creativity exploration, risk taking and fun!

Performing Arts Watch a Performance of ‘Blank’ Passionate about Performing Arts? If you’re thinking of studying drama, dance or music then come along and see our current students perform their National Theatre Connections piece, ‘Blank’ by Alice Birch. There will be one performance of approx one hour starting at 5.15pm.

Maths Bridging the gap between GCSE and A level Maths

This session will give you some extra practice with key GCSE maths topics and show you how they are developed at A level. You will be working on maths problems which will benefit the maths you are studying now at school.

English Are you a budding writer? Have you already started writing a novel, or are you just venturing into the creative world? Whatever your interest in creative writing, there’s a place for you in the Worthing College Creative Writing Group. Come along for a taste of the activities we do. These range from entering competitions (the most recent was Stranger Sagas) to experimenting with univocal lipograms - that’s a poem using only one vowel, think about writing a poem about pigs, where the only vowel you can use is the letter ‘i’! Are you up for the challenge? Come along to our taster session and enter our creative competition to have the chance of winning a £10 Amazon voucher.

Bridging the Gap - Qualifications Explained 103

Learn more about how your son or daughter can maximise their success and progression opportunities by getting the most from our flexible vocational & A Level curriculum.

All your Questions Answered Join Principal Paul Riley and Vice Principal Steven Foden for an interactive session on the most important things you might want to know to support your son/daughter to make a really effective transition from school to college. All of these questions and more will be covered, and you’ll get a chance to ask others as well. • What will the college day be like? • Will my son/daughter get a lot of homework? • S/he tells me they’ve got lots of free periods. Is this true? • How can I support my son/daughter in the first few weeks? • What information will I get in the first few weeks on how s/he’s doing? • How will they make new friends? • My son/daughter doesn’t go to one of the Worthing schools - will you help him/her fit in?

Exhibition Hall

Support and Guidance Services Join Ross Fuhrmann, Assistant Principal to learn about the wealth of support and guidance we offer to all our students. His talk will cover how we work with students who require additional support at college, the tutorial system, work experience, volunteering, UCAS applications, University and Apprenticeships, First Generation and Student Action. There will also be plenty of time for a Q&A session, so please come armed with any questions you may have.
