The Senior Class of 1964 has twenty-six member s, nine girls and seventeen boys. Of this number , thirteen have r eceived all of their training at W.P .S.D .. The others have transfered from various schools. But all have one thing in common. They are either deaf or hard-of-hearing due to various causes such as : illness, falls, or being born deaf. L inda Barwiolek, J ack Otterma n, Sharlene Schmidt, Willia m Snyder, Jimmy Walter, David Keith, Dean F itzger ald, Bobby Saeler, Bobby Whittingham, a nd Willa Dean Williams have been schoolmates since the age of four or f ive, although not always classmates. Carol Ann Ritchie joined their r a nks at the age of seven, Linda B ucci at the age of nine, and Stanley Kot at the age of t en. Eddie Smith t ransfered from Patterson Township public school to our school at eight year s of age. Gar y Lutsko came from the Vintr ode, Pa. public school when he was ten. Malcolm Weber was a t ransfer from t he Ponca Military Academy in Oklahoma. H e had a long move. R obert Lewis attended Erie Or al School befor e coming her e. The rest of the t r ansfers have come from DePaul Institute at various times. They a re H a rrison Lewis, Lawrence Campero, William Smith, Tom Inches, Douglas Hlavay, La Verne Lahood, Janet Kirby, Elaine Hillgrove, and Janet Halli. Last February 13, the class had its first senior meeting. The following officers were elected: P resident - Eddie Smith, Vice President - Sharlene Schmidt, Secretary - Linda Barwiolek, and Treasurer - Jack Otterman. On April 2, some of the class went roller skating for a couple of hours. A good t ime was had by all. On May 9, the class went to Forbes Field. The game was between the Pirates a nd Milwaukee. On June 2, a ll t he seniors in the class enjoyed a picnic at the summerhouse. June 11 was t he biggest day of our lives. On that day we g raduated f rom good old W.P.S.D .. It was both a day of happiness and a day of sorrow. Some of our f riends will be so far away we may not see them for many year s. We shall all remember wit h gratitude the lessons learned and t he friends m ade at W. P . S.D.

The time is 2000 A. D., the turn of the century. The class of 1964 of W. P. S.D. is looking back at the years between their graduation and now. In 1974, ten years after graduating from W . P. S.D., Eddie Smith and I, your narrators, were working in the same company inspecting many outer space and state companies. Eddie Smith was the president and I was the secretary of Smibar Inspecting Company. We decided to spend a f ew days, inspecting many companies. The first thing on a Monday morning we took a trip to California in a space age car. We were surprised to see that Bob Lewis was the driver. He was the owner of the space age cars in t h e United States. We talk ed for a while. He told us that he was married to Laverne Lahood and had two kids. He begged us to see them. We hoped that after our trip, we could see them. In California we inspected the big company, Jones Message Company which sent messages to outer space. It was in fine condition. The traveling messages were working on schedule. Jack Otterman was in charge of it. He had lost ten pounds in ten years. He chatted with us. He said he had been going with a girl in the West. Her name was Gloria Carlsbuy. We enjoyed being with them all morning. We also met Elaine Hillgrove in that company. She was working on a small machine with a television on it. She hadn't changed a bit. In the afternoon we went to Chinatown, California to eat our lunch and found that the waiter in the Chinese restaurant was David Keith. We were glad to see him. He had been working there almost nine years and he loved the life in California. Then we took a space trip to the moon that evening. We had a hard time, finding a hotel to sleep in. Finally we found a big hotel. There were two rooms for u s to stay in. There was a man with a familiar face . He was Bill Smith, a bellboy. We hadn't seen him for ages. He said he had been looking for a job in the United States for about seven years. He said he was working under Bobby Saeler, the owner of the hotel. We were anxious to see him in the morning. We woke up after a long rest all night. We had breakfast with Bobby and his lovely wife, Linda Bucci. We had a long chat. We went to a science company, Johnsty Science Company near the hotel. Douglas Hlavay was the owner. He acted indifferent toward us for a while, but then changed his attitude and showed us everywhere. We were surprised to see Jimmy Walter. He was working on many radios and televisions. We talked for about a half hour. We remembered Jimmy at school. He always listened to the radio and h e got a job as a radio man.
We stayed there almost all day. T hat night we went to Ma rs. There were no strange creatures as we used to think. Janet Kirby g reeted us a nd and the chauffer, Malcolm Weber, took us to a strange-looking motel to stay. Mal and J a net had been married a few year s ago. We had a nice chat about their life in Mars and our past time. The next m orning we wen t t o the laboratory where a famous scientist, T om Inches worked. He was glad to see us. He had been working hard to find a way to build a kind of car to the farthest planet , Pluto. The laboratory was neat. There wer e a few workers that were from W.P .S. D. Stanley Kot was the janitor and Dean Fitzgerald was in charge of the heat and electricity of the la borator y. We enj oyed ourselves, looking at the strange animals and machines. Then our work was over. We were going back but we wer e hung r y so we looked for a place to eat. Then we found a restaurant which served us spaghetti. We found t hat Larry Camper o an d his wife, Carol Ritchie owned the place. The food was delicious and their three children were darling . We laughed over t he talk that we had r emembering year s ago at W. P . S.D. Then we got into the space car which took us back to U.S. and we m et t he assistant pilot, Skipper Lewis. We thought we would never see him because it was hard to meet everyone of our senior class of 1964. The passengers were our old friends, Sharlene Schmidt and Willa Williams. We enj oyed talking about the old days at school. Sha rlene a nd I remembered our fun at college. Finally we set our feet on t he ground of the U. S. where we met Bob Whittingham who worked for t he airport, cleaning t he airplanes. We didn't have much time to talk. We found t her e was only a half hour left before 7:00 p.m., so we visited Laverne Lahood and her kids. Then our few days of t ravel were over. Eddie went back home to his wife, Janet Halli and I was back home with my parents . We were glad t o see our old friends a nd we had a grand t ime.
