Finally... We have reached our goal, we are seniors! Our moment is here and we have completed the year. So yeah - look at us, and yes, we’ve got style. It is our opportunity to shine; be a star. So people, look at us! We have worked earnestly and assiduously for twelve years of schooling - twelve years of the roller coaster ride. At times we felt our rollercoaster ride was out of control, we learned how to maintain that control. When our grades weren’t so good, we learned we had to study and work harder. When we were in trouble for poor attitudes, we learned we need to be mature and be disciplined. We have been through it all; we have become the people who we wanted to be today. So, look at us; we’ve got style. Now ask yourselves this, who do you want to be? Will you depart WPSD too with style? At WPSD, we knew who we wanted to be. We are individuals. We have our own opinions and that is what makes us unique. So, look at us, we’ve got style. WPSD has taught us numerous things, even when we made teachers go insane, fooled around in class, didn’t do the work, or take our accomplishments seriously. We blossomed from an infant bird which knew nothing into a sophisticated flying bird. We will leave WPSD with style. So yeah, look at us, we’ve got style.

Remember the time When the kid took your candy, It was when you learned to share. Or scraping your knee on the playground, Crying for mom and she’ll be there? Remember the time When we first walked in the class, “Welcome first graders,” said the teacher; Wondering if the butterflies in our tummies would pass, Sitting next to a girl, who would perhaps be a new friend? Remember the time When we first got our heartbreak, Having your friends saying, “He’s not worth it.” Or your parents wouldn’t give you a break Because you weren’t doing their way? Remember the time When we sneaked out, passed our curfew, Having the best time you ever had Thinking your parents had no clue But they always knew anyway. We’re applying for colleges, waiting for the results Everything you do in school slowly drives you insane Wanting to get out and waiting gets difficult You try so hard not to complain. And now see where we are We’ve grown up so fast We’ve came this far... Memories would always stay Its who we have become From sharing to heartbreaks, it seemed yesterday We learned and through it all... When we leave, we know now We would have to catch ourselves when we fall Knowing out there isn’t like playing a Barbie doll But we would leave you saying, “Oh wow...”

Close-Up Week @ Washington D.C. The week that Bobby Maher and I spent in Washington D.C. was a total blast because we were able to experience many things squeezed into a week! Close-Up is all about learning about our country’s government, experiencing the diverse culture that Washington D.C. provided, meeting new people, and a hybrid of learning and fun at the same time! Bobby and I cherished the moments that we saw President Bush 3 days in row. On Tuesday, Jan 18, 2005, we attended the concert that featured many wellknown people like American Idol’s Ruben Studdard, Hilary Duff, Jojo, a band called Fuel, and some celebrities who gave speeches about America’s military. At the finale, President Bush and his wife, Laura made a brief appearance that made fired up the crowd! On Wednesday evening, after enduring long walks during the harsh weather the Close-Up group finally got on the White House’s front lawn to watch the celebration about America’s Freedom and Dedication to America’s Military. We were able to see President Bush and Vice President Cheney and their wives too! It was very chilly on that evening but we were willing to brave it to see the President again! Jan 20, 2005 or The Inauguration Day was beautiful and very touching. We had to go through heavy security checkpoints to see President Bush take the oath for his 2nd term. We saw many well-known politicians such as Bill & Hilary Clinton, Colin Powell, John Kerry, Condoleezza Rice, Karl Rove, and many more on the jumbotron. After that, we watched the Inaugural Parade for while. The week went so fast for us! We flew back to Pittsburgh with wonderful memories in our heads. We were lucky enough to able experience many things firsthand during Close-Up Week! Timothy Eugene Putt
