hollywood dreams two poems By Joey, age 9 The Dancing Calm Story Dancing makes me feel calm. I dance during Red Fox times and during Hoobiyee. I like dancing Native ways. I dance like a wolf and an eagle. When I am at Hoobiyee the sound of the drums tells me the beat and how to dance. I like the motion of the dancers around me. One of the songs I like is “Woman’s Warrior.” “Woman’s Warrior” is a song and dance that represents all of the women and girls that have gotten lost and passed away. I also like “Smooth Dancing.” “Smooth Dancing” is nice nature music and it is slow like a snake. Dancing makes me feel calm. The Nature Poem I like the trees. I like the stream. I like the bees. But in my dream.

Then I would get a glass of water and go to sleep.

we famous realistic By Gabby, age 11

Samantha was a little girl with a big imagination. Anything she drew was very realistic, so realistic that it was real. One day, as Samantha was walking to school, she pulled out her notebook and pencil and began drawing a skateboard. She pulled it out of the notebook and rode it to school. When she got to school, she got out her eraser, erased it and started drawing a cheeseburger. After her delicious snack and before her teacher came back, she changed all the clocks in the school to show she wasn't late. When the teacher came back, she thought school had just started when it was actually lunchtime. School ended at 8 p.m. She drew a jet pack to ride home that night, and told her parents about how good that burger was.

a story about mount currie By Celest, age 11 When I go to Mount Currie I like that we stop at Shannon Falls. When we go to the top of the stairs, we feel the mist from the waterfall. When I walk up the hill I like the smell of nature. It smells like you are in a bed of moss, and you get to feel how the trees and bushes and bark feel when you touch them. Shannon Falls makes me feel calm because it reminds me of Moricetown.

I felt my eyelids getting heavy and before I knew it I had passed out. I woke up trembling with fear. I searched my surroundings: Was I home? Was it all just a dream? My pillow was damp from my tears and my cheeks were hot from crying. I was still not convinced that it was a dream. I looked to my right and I saw a doll with dark brown hair and red eyes on my bedside table. I got up and went to the bathroom to wash my face, hoping it was all just a dream. He saw Gaiea and asked what was going on. She said, “You . . . are the new father of Earth/Gaiea.” After a ton of talking and lectures . . . Can you help me find my father?” asked Jonathan. “Why, I am your father,” said Gaiea, “but I must go now.” “Wait! Can’t you go back to mother?” said Jonathan. “I’m sorry.
