A site to behold! WRR is diligently redesigning its web site to keep up with new technology and the needs of our listeners. We’ve gone back to the drawing board to produce a completely new, yet somehow, familiar user interface for our listeners. “WRR was one of the first radio stations to have a Web site,” WRR General Manager Greg Davis said. “Through the years we have made it a priority to stay on the cutting-edge of Web site design and technology, and our efforts have resulted in numerous awards, including recognition as one of the best radio website in the world. WRR has never been one to rest on its laurels; we’re always looking to improve our listeners’ experience whether on air or online.” WRR worked with designers from DIB Creative and Content Active to create a new framework based on the functions most used by our listeners from the station’s old web site. We created a site that works the way our listeners naturally search for information.

Popular functions, such as streaming online, purchasing music and subscribing to the e-mail newsletter are available on every page; but many aspects of the site change as users move from page to page based on their current search. The home page has been condensed to offer news headlines and current arts events. Items are conveniently tabbed based on interests like stage performances or literary events and a search feature added to simplify finding a particular event heard on WRR. We’ve removed the clutter while creating a site that offers much more information. Davis said “This is a site that handles our present needs and allows us to continue to grow as new technology is introduced.” WRR’s site is currently undergoing testing and will be unveiled to the public shortly within the next 30 days. Stay tuned for exciting contests promoting the site.

Sneak Peek–WRR’s new Web site will go online this month.
