£5,000 cash injection SELLY OAK

RVS recently gifted £5000 to the West Midlands Rehabilitation Centre based in Selly Oak. The money was raised thanks to the great work of those at the hospital coffee shop and will be used to buy important physiotherapy equipment. A double take for long service

WRVS volunteers helped at the Windmill Community Centre in Smethwick, where 28 people were evacuated due to a fire in a local supermarket. Despite being called at 3.47am, Nigel Edwards with our volunteers managed to Eileen Boulton provide hot drinks and snacks for the evacuees. been volunteering with the club for 40 years, while Brenda Chadwick has been a volunteer for 15 years. The club meets every Wednesday and has around 120 members. Locality Manager Nigel Edwards presented the long-service awards, saying: “Brenda and Eileen both thoroughly deserved to be rewarded.”
