Comrades reunited after 6o years Ken Gibson, an 85-year-old Londoner who now lives in Perranporth, Cornwall, has recently been reunited with army comrade Graham Jenner after 60 years. They were brought together again through the ‘Missing and Found’ column in the Daily Mail. In 1944, at the tender age of 18, they joined the 1st Battalion of The Queen’s Royal Regiment together and were almost immediately sent on a troop ship to India. Ken is a loyal member of the Perranporth Good Companions Club and thoroughly enjoys the monthly meetings.

Iris Giles, a regular passenger with Brian, feels he deserves to be recognised for his excellent voluntary work. “He is a wonderful man,” Iris tells us. “He so rightly deserves this award because he has been excellent. There really could not be anyone kinder taking me to my hospital appointments.”
