he biggest ever single donation to NHS Forth Valley – £175,000 – was given by WRVS earlier this year. The money, gifted thanks to the profits from WRVS cafés in Stirling and Falkirk Community Hospitals, will be used to fund a number of new projects for older people in the hospitals, including two new sensory gardens for dementia patients. Donation lends colour to lives Chief Executive of NHS Forth Valley Professor Fiona Mackenzie said: “This is an outstanding Volunteer Manager Sheila Pheeley, Service Delivery Manager Grahame Rose and Chief Executive of NHS Forth Valley Fiona Mackenzie sum of money and we cannot

thank WRVS enough for their amazing generosity. Many of our elderly patients spend a long time in hospital, and being able to bring brightness and colour into their lives makes a huge difference to their wellbeing.” Service Delivery Manager Grahame Rose added: “I am very proud of the volunteers and staff who have worked so selflessly to make gifting possible. Once again, WRVS has shown that our volunteers and staff can make a huge difference to people’s lives. Well done to all the volunteers at Stirling and Falkirk cafés, you have made us proud yet again!”
