Basildon bonds to give £30k
D
edicated WRVS volunteers were thanked by staff at Basildon University Hospital recently for their gifting of £30,000. Over 20 WRVS volunteers attended a reception that not only celebrated this significant contribution, but also recognised longservice milestones for some of the volunteers. Making a real difference Among the volunteers celebrating long-service awards were Josie Vincett for volunteering with WRVS for 25 years and Sheila Lack, who was presented with her 15 year long-service award. Val Pitcher, who couldn’t be present at the ceremony, also received an award for 30 years of volunteering.
“We are so grateful to everyone who generously gives their time to WRVS,” Chris Hall, WRVS Local Manager, told volunteers. “You make a real difference for patients through the services you provide, and through the amazing amount of money you raise.” Service Delivery Manager
Esther Gillespie added: “It is important to WRVS to be able to gift back to a hospital and we recognise how important this is to our volunteers who want to make a contribution to their local community and hospital. Without our volunteers and their loyalty, this gift just wouldn’t have been possible.”
