WRVS helps buy new scanner

A

generous donation from WRVS has helped the Freeman Hospital in Newcastleupon-Tyne buy new CAT scanning equipment. CAT, or CT, scanners create a threedimensional computerised X-ray of patients and help diagnose many conditions. A plaque was also unveiled by Head of the North East and Cumbria Chris Graham, while Trust Chief Executive Sir Leonard Fenwick thanked WRVS for the donation. gnes and Pat Wilson, both 76, have received 15-year long-service medals for their commitment as volunteers at Monkwearmouth Hospital tea bar in Sunderland. They were awarded their medals at a special volunteer get-together in the summer. At the same event Kath Hopper was thanked for her time as a Local Service Manager at Cherry Knowle Hospital Tea Bar, which closed last year.
