WBBJTV.COM Reports . . . Social media threats concern local parent March 7, 2016 HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — A local high school student is afraid for her life after her mother said she has received treating messages from classmates over social media. The victim’s mother said it went from her being picked on at school to death threats online. Screen Shot 2016-03-07 at 10.14.47 PMDarlethia Walker reached out to WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News, Monday morning looking for answers. Her daughter, a student at Humboldt High School, is afraid to go back to school after a weekend of threats on social media. Police and the school system said they are investigating but she is still concerned. “Kids can get killed, they can kill themselves,” Walker said. “You never know what can go on because of all of this. When you threaten someone’s life that’s nothing to play with.” Walker said over the weekend two different Humboldt High School students sent her 9th grader messages over text and Facebook. “They said they were going to kill her when she came back to school,” Walker said. “They called her all kinds of names and just crazy stuff on social media.” One message, who Walker said is from a freshman classmate, reads “we’re all coming for you Monday so be ready. You’re going to be dead you ugly *expletive*” “She has Hydrocephalus and they said they were going to knock the shunt out of her head,” Walker said. “They said they were going to bring a knife to school and cut it out.” Another message reads “I have the knife in my bag. We’re all going to kill her in the morning.” - Read more @ wbbjtv.com

Victoria Miller is in the Haywood County Jail accused of stabbing the man in the back Sunday. BROWNSVILLE, Tenn.—Police have said little about last week’s Hillcrest Street shooting. Earnestine Barge is still in the hospital and is being treated for a bullet wound to the head. Her husband, Joseph, is undergoing mental evaluation according to Brownsville Police Chief Barry Diebold. So far investigators have called it a domestic incident. Police arrived on the scene early last Wedneday afternoon when dispatchers told them that a man had called threatening to shoot his wife and himself. Mr. Barge gave up shortly after police arrived. Officers found Mrs. Barge inside of the house. Police say Mr. Barge fired the shot.

BLOODS GANG MEMBER SENTENCED TO OVER 39 YEARS IN PRISON FOR ARMED BUSINESS ROBBERIES Memphis, TN – A Memphis man who robbed two businesses at gunpoint and forced a store clerk to perform a sex act has been sentenced to 477 months (over 39 years) in federal prison. Edward L. Stanton III, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee, announced the sentencing today. According to evidence presented in court, in the early morning hours of January 26, 2014, 20-year-old Khalil Davis, (left) a member of the Bloods street gang, entered a Circle K convenience store on Poplar Avenue, masked in a bandana and armed with a firearm. Davis pointed the gun at the store clerk’s face and took money from both the cash register and safe. He then placed the gun to the female clerk’s head and forced her to perform oral sex on him before fleeing the scene. On the same day, less than an hour later, Davis, along with a co-conspirator, 33-year-old Antonio Griffin, entered the Marathon Gas Station on Poplar Avenue. After Griffin approached the counter to make a purchase, Davis ran behind the counter and put a gun to the store clerk’s head. A struggle ensued between Davis and the clerk while Griffin grabbed money out of the cash register and fled the store. Davis was able to eventually release himself with the gun. As he exited the store, Davis fired one shot at the clerk. In July 2015, Davis’ co-conspirator, Griffin, pled guilty to one count of committing a robbery affecting interstate commerce and one count of brandishing and discharging a firearm in relation to a crime of violence. He was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Samuel H. Mays to a 10-year prison term in November 2015. In November 2015, a jury convicted Davis on two counts of committing a robbery affecting interstate commerce and two counts of brandishing and discharging a firearm in relation to a crime of violence. On Thursday, February 25, 2016, Judge Mays sentenced Davis to 477 months imprisonment.
