Participation with Purpose

A Tradition of GIVING

Thanks to generous donors, Windward School is a thriving independent institution celebrating over 50 years of academic success. Each year, our students directly benefit from the Windward Fund thanks to the support of our parents and guardians, alums, grandparents, faculty and staff, and friends throughout our 100 Days of Giving campaign.

The Windward Fund’s focus represents our School’s three philanthropic pillars of opportunity: Program Enhancements, Financial Aid, and Research & Development. This annual campaign directly impacts students, campus facilities, and continued professional development for faculty and staff and prioritizes our strategic goals. Your participation and contributions to the Windward Fund make growth possible. Please join us in our quest to deliver a dynamic education in a nurturing environment!

PROGRAM ENHANCEMENTS

We’re excited to share some highlights from last year’s successful campaign. Your support significantly impacted the purchase of upgraded Robotics kits to enhance building and programming skills; the Media Arts & Film Lab received new cameras to view new projects using a different lens. Animation received Apple Illustrator Pads, unleashing creativity and design; the Music department acquired a bass guitar, keyboard, and amplifiers, and the Performing Arts department

received a top-notch lighting board and monitors to enhance the scene for all Windward productions. Our Volleyball program benefitted from new equipment, and the Pavilion received a floor plan upgrade this summer to improve the flow and function during busy meal times.

Your participation has a purpose, and this year’s 100 Days of Giving will focus on further enhancing the student experience. We appreciate your support!

FINANCIAL AID

The success of the Windward Fund directly correlates to the increase in the amount of financial assistance we can offer students within the community. Windward School is proud to provide Financial Aid to over 90 students in the 2024-25 school year. This aid covers vital expenses such as textbooks, technology, athletic gear, participation in the Windward bus program, field trips, and school events. These provisions enable students to fully participate and engage in all that Windward School offers. Financial Aid strengthens our diverse community and supports our mission.

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT

In the 2023-24 academic year, over 80 Windward faculty and staff attended ongoing training through conferences, workshops, and classes due to gifts made to the Windward Fund, which supports continuing professional development. Bringing back fresh, new ideas aligns with our mission of providing a premier education. The Windward Fund also fosters partnerships with universities, keeping our programs relevant with the next level of education in mind.

Additionally, it supports Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging initiatives, enhancing community engagement and culturally responsive practices.
