GIVING AT WINDWARD SCHOOL

THE PARENT GUILD

Windward parents are automatically members of the Parent Guild. The Parent Guild’s volunteer programs strengthen the Windward community, enriching the social, cultural, educational and fundraising activities of the school.

ADVANCEMENT

Advancement Volunteers work with fellow parents to secure philanthropic support for the school and help educate the parent body about the school’s exciting programs and initiatives.

THE WINDWARD NETWORK

The Windward Network leverages the collective wisdom and social networking of the Windward community to open doors, facilitate mentorships, and enhance the careers of all our Windwardians.

A dynamic education. A nurturing community. 11350 Palms Boulevard, Los Angeles, California 90066 www.windwardschool.org

Volunteering has without a doubt enriched our experience as Windward parents. Bob Clifford, father of Robbie ‘17

The Windward Fund supports our community by providing substantial funding for Financial Aid, Research & Development, and Program Enhancements. Tuition alone does not cover the actual cost of educating each student; gifts to the Windward Fund help bridge that gap.

Other WAYS TO GIVE

SPRING EVENT

Each year, the Parent Guild presents Windward’s Spring Event, a fundraiser and community builder, typically held in May, that includes live and silent auctions, and benefits both Research & Development and Financial Aid Programs.

MAJOR GIFTS

Major Gifts, sometimes called Leadership Gifts, are large contributions that are used to make significant capital improvements to facilities and programs. Windward is deeply grateful to those with the ability to give and commitment to philanthropy who can step forward and set an example of generosity for the entire community.

CAPITAL CAMPAIGN

Capital Campaigns support major projects, such as campus construction and facility renovations. Thanks to Windward’s last Capital Campaign, completed in 2011, students today benefit from the programs and resources available in the Science, Dance & Music Center and the Center for Teaching & Learning.

PLANNED GIVING

The Bridge Circle honors those who desire to leave a lasting legacy and have included Windward in their estate plans. There are a number of ways to include Windward in your estate plans, which could provide tax advantages for you, the donor. FOR MORE DETAILS PLEASE VISIT WWW.WINDWARDSCHOOL.ORG/ PLANNEDGIVING

MATCHING GIFTS

Corporate matching gifts provide a wonderful opportunity to increase your contribution to Windward School. Check with your human resources department to see if your employer will match your contribution.

GIVING TUESDAY

Giving Tuesday is recognized by many schools, charities, and businesses around the world. It is a time to celebrate and encourage activities that support charities and non-profits, and is a way for our community to learn about coming together and making a difference.

ENDOWMENT FUNDS

Gifts to endowment are an investment in the long-term financial health of Windward School. Endowment Funds are held in long-term investments with the principal remaining untouched, which creates a permanent source of revenue for the school.

PARTY BOOK

Party Book focuses on community, fun, and friendship. Throughout the year, Windward families host parties with a limited number of guests. Proceeds benefit the Research & Development and Financial Aid Programs.
