Welcome to Term Four
Wyndham Tech School welcomed a total of 3,239 visitors in Term 3, a combination of students, teachers, businesses and community members to participate in our full suite of programs, events and specialist workshops.
Highlights included our VU Researcher Day, Microsoft Excel Certification Program, Young Scientist Competition, Inspiring Women in Tech Event, Industry Grad Day, Robotics After School Program and Student Re-Engagement Programs.
Term 4 is shaping up to be another action-packed term with a few spaces still available for those looking to book a program. For those of you in the planning phases for 2023, our calendar is now open and available for bookings. As always if you have specific requests or queries do not hesitate to reach out to the team. Wyndham Tech School continues to forge sustainable relationships with local businesses and recently met with the CEVA logistics team to discuss the challenges they are facing with the lack of digital talent, how they are using advanced robotic technology in their warehouses and a potential partnership.
We came across this report from the Australian Computer Society recently Computer Education in Schools 2022 Report. The report gives a background into how computer education has developed in Australia, the significant changes occurring due to the implementation of the Australian curriculum, and the development of Digital Technologies as a compulsory subject in all primary and lower secondary schools. It explores the approaches schools are taking to implement the curriculum and the challenges they are facing in establishing an entirely new subject.
