01 THE WALK OF LIFE

The first project is to understand the interaction between human beings and spaces requires exploration and personal participation. For this project, the site I have chosen is at Taman Tasik Permaisuri, a park, located in Bandar Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur.

01 THE WALK OF LIFE For the first project, it requires to analyses the elements of activities, colours, pattern, texture and human behaviour. From these elements found in my site, it is made into a collage. Activities - Jogging, leisure walking, exercising Colours - Green from trees Pattern - Triangular geometrical shape from structure Texture - Grass, jogging pavement In the collage, people doing jogging, leisure walking and exercising is added to show the element of activities. Next, multiple of trees is added to represent the colour green. The structure representing the pattern is placed at the front as it is a significant area where people gather there. For the texture, grass and jogging pavement are added and both have a rough surface. Finally, I added a city background to represent the park is located in the city and also a reflection effect to remind us the architects and designers to create spaces like this for a more greenery future.

02 THE EXPLORATION

• Anthropometry • 2D Artwork • 3D Artwork For this project, it is a continuation from Project 1 where from the collage into a 2D artwork then to 3D artwork with the application of at least three architectural design principles. Besides, this project also covers the understanding of anthropometry by drawing different activities done by human figure with measurement.

2D ARTWORK

Repetition • The different sizes and forms of triangles represent the trees in the park. These triangles are arranged in a random manner to give out a more natural arrangement. Some triangles are colored and some are open to indicate that the colored one shows the jungly area of the park while the open triangles show the more open space of the park. Colour green is used to have similar colour as real trees. Hierarchy • The multiple triangles combine together show the structure in the park. It is placed center to show the significant important of that structure to the surrounding. Colour red is used to create a contrast to other objects.

Axis • The axis is to represent the reflection effect in the collage. This axis in this 2D composition also acts as a mirror and reflect the surrounding objects. Black colour is used as it is neutral and not eye catching compared to other objects.

3D ARTWORK

Repetition • The triangles which represents the trees are raised with different height to bring out a more natural feeling. Some triangles are enclosed, semi-open, and open to show that there is a part in the park where it has a more jungly area than the rest for enclosed and semi open triangle. While for the open triangle is to represent the other area of the park which are not so jungly but give a sense of openness to the surrounding.

Hierarchy • The object which composed of multiple triangles at different level represent the structure in the park. It is made with different level like a staircase to show that there are different activities can be done there from small activities to bigger activities such as group exercising to events or campaign.

Axis • The axis is to represent the reflection effect in the collage and also acts as a mirror to the surroundings. It is shaped triangle to reflect the surrounding area which are the trees.

03 THE ADAPTATION

• CASE STUDY • BOARD PRESENTATION In this project, it has a connection with previous Project 1 & 2 where I understand the form, shape and spaces and also the understanding of anthropometry. For this project, it is to design a pod for single person related to the Post-COVID 19 situation and with the function of activity such as WORK/PLAY, STANDING, SEATING AND SLEEPING.
