Welcome to Sweden

Welcome to the Future

Please accept our very warm welcome to Sweden and the region of Skåne. We are happy that you are sharing these days focusing on Location Based Services with us. We believe that positioning data and geo- tagged services will play a major role in the development of all media and related industries. We trust your time at the first X Media Lab Sweden will reinforce and encourage your own efforts in these directions. Media Evolution is dedicated to promoting growth in the media industries, and we are proud to partner together with Kulturkraft Syd in bringing the X Media Lab event to Malmo.

Are we really the “Crown of Creation”?

Regards Christer Månsson CEO of Media Evolution

With the sheer amount of digital development going on one might foresee a Homo Digitalis around the corner. This thing with geographical information systems and the new Internet of things and places is certainly gonna be a quantum leap for mankind. Just as the old Internet was. Today it’s even hard to remember a time without email and cell phones. Tomorrow we will not remember what it was like to have paper maps, physical guide books, or car theft, for that matter. Since the maps of the universe are going to be in our pockets, the guide books will be hyper localized and interactive and the cars will always tell you where they are…. The list of what will change when LBS comes around is gonna be very very long. And the thrilling task of finding out how it’s gonna change the way we do things really could get me going… But I’m not going to, since we’ve got a great set of really smart people here at X|Media|Lab Sweden to help us out with that task. Most welcome to the first (but not last) Lab in Sweden and to an amazing conference day. My strong belief is that it’s going to change your mind set for ever. The media evolution and the human evolution are happening! Cheers! /sten :) Sten Selander Director of Business Development, Nordic Game Program
