Leistungsphasen 1-5
The proyect looked to become the first Boutique Hotel specialized in wine tasting. The breath taking view is the scenario for the 11 rooms of the hotel. As a part of a remodellling proyect,the Hotel was an old house from the Concepcion Hill. Built entirely in the inside the main façade has to be left intact.The mayor’s office was strict about not changing the core-structure of the house. A contemporary glass attic was designed to leave more space for new rooms. Several case studies were made for the main façade.

For this proyect we follow the idea that furniture is the point where the space interact with people andcreateakind of stage wherethe environment isintroduced. In the case of a school, kids are in a growing process so the design should be flexible and safe, but also be stimulating and easy to manipulate. The Grove Tower is conceived to provide a comfortable indoor environment using passive means to reduce mechanical means such as air conditioning in at least 35%. The typical floor area of 2,600 m2 is divided in two wings, creating an atrium, just above a ground floor garden, that allows natural daylight go “down” and the indoor air go “up” using the stack effect, improved by the “wing” shape of the building. Plants are also part of the indoor design, moderating the indoor climate,

The buildings are orientated in its lenghtwise North-South, and the distance between them allows that no shadows from other buildings will cover the south faรงade in the winter midday. This south faรงade have a conservatory, improving the heat gains and keeping the house warm in the night. Building main circulation are all across north faรงade, apartments are duplex and they open both sides, allowing cross ventilation an improving the solar entering angle and heat gains of internal mass in winter. The buildings main circulations and the service rooms in houses works as a buffer zone. In the hot seasons of the year the same building external structure protect the apartments from solar direct beam. Crossing natural ventilation is in every

The goverment bought the Cerrillosairport. The planis to make a huge remodÊlation as a part of the centennial anniversary of the country. The project was approached as 3 bodies, the first one congregates the theatres, the second one, as a bridge of transition, the cafeteria , the third one is the fair ground space of 100.000 square feets. The area of Santiago in which the proyect is , has the complexity of having huge thermal deltas between day and night. To avoid expensive air conditioning , we proposed making a retractile green house. This was achived through a complex double-façade bracket , which holded the photovoltaic panels , and had a circulating system,with rolers to move. During summer this brackets could be folded. In winter they could be deploied

GROOVE TOWER The simulation of the hydraulic ramp showed that there is a huge thermal bridge in this specific part of the building. The biggest thermal bridges are in logistic halls produced by infiltration, as the doors need to be opened for long periods, and added to this is the huge problem of the steel ramp used to load and unload the products, which is in constant contact with the outside air temperature. It must be noted that the design of the building allows the installed tube air-heaters to be put right above the ramps, which acts as a huge barrier against the losses. Although this measure can be considered reasonable in must be taken into account that the heating system is used as little as possible, only between the end of September and May and only during working hours, leaving huge gaps of

Located in Santiago de Chile, the project includes two towers, one is an office and the other a hotel. Two models were designed and tested as part of a consulting study.
SUSTAINABILITY WORK
A huge question was the impact of glare, from the building and its surroundings, as well as the self induced shading. The study proved that a vertical faรงade with a commercial plaza on its feet will produce a clear glare problem in the plaza. A proposed measure was to give the faรงade a geometric special form to avoid the vertical plane.

The same models were run in DIVA in order to understand the study from the lightning point of view.
