After our lose last week, we wanted to startstrongandfinishstrongwhichthe girlsdid.

Having Eryn play her last game before traveling overseas you will be missed! Brooklyn again was consistent in her defence Grace through the middle providing good drive and run the full game out. Chloe played an absolute pearler of a game at WD, Tamara playedatWAandshowedherpatience with her passing. In the goals Millie, Megan and Katie shot and all played welltogether

Welldonegirls,keepworkinghard.

Our defensive end was tight turning over plenty of ball and Nicola shot really well but unfortunately the inconsistencyacross fourquarterswas lackingagain.

I solid game for us today girls. Really great pressure all over the court. We didn’t get the win but it was a massive improvement from the last time we play We still haven’t quite found that consistency across all 4 quarters, so let’s hope we can for next week. Big congratulations to Tarsh McCallum for achievingher 350 games. We are all so lucky to have you as an amazing coach andteammate.

VUnder 11’s - It was another wet, cold start to our Saturday morning. The court was slippery and the ball was tricky to grasp but the girls displayed their absolute best efforts to support each other and work as a team. We had many seamless passages of play that demonstrated the skills we have been practising at training. Best players were Molly Sutton and Sophie Halloran. Molly has shown immense improvement over the season, she was pivotal in implementing our game strategy Sophie continues to demonstrate her versatility and strength in the midcourt. VanCino encouragement award went to Ivy Levine.Afantasticteameffortgirls,welldone.

Under 13B’s: - Our first game in a long time playingwithallsevenavailable.Thegirlscame out full of enthusiasm and worked hard to try and free themselves of their opponents. To Millicent's credit they moved the ball quickly and into space. We had some good passages ofplayandlinkedtheballnicelywhenlooking forward. Our connections grew as the game went on, and it was encouraging to see we nevergaveup.

Under13A’s:-Achallengingtussleagainstthe undefeated team without our full line up. Grace displayed her versatility & worked positively with Ava in circle defence. Piper filled the WA position and linked well with Mackenzie & Jenna through the mid court. Laceyhadagreatgamedrivingtointospace& shooting accurately Carey was a good focal point in GS with strong holds & decision making. Our goal at 3/4 time was to win the final quarter which the girls achieved by 2 goals.

Under15A’s:-Wewentintoourgameagainst Millicent knowing it was going to be a tough game against a strong side, and to the girls credit they worked hard at training this week and implemented our structures which resulted in an amazing 14 goal win! It was a real team effort and it was great to see the girlspatienceinattackandfullcourtdefensive pressure resulting in many turnovers Georgia’s feed were beautiful and her second phase drives worked to break down Millicent’s defence. Elodie shot very well and continues to be a playmaker in our attack. I couldn’t have asked for much more from the girls and was very proud of how they all played. Maggie continues to do what she always does, drives hard, controls the game, feedswellandhadanoutstandinggameinher 100thgamefortheclub!WelldoneMaggie.

Under 15B’s: - With Millicent being close competitors all season, we knew it was going to be a tough game. It was a tight contest in the first quarter, only being up by a few at the first break. Mia and Mischa worked well to present to the ball in the circle and were both accurate in their execution. Georgia and Lily fed well into the circle with multiple intercepts through the mid court, while Bella, Penny and Raine got plenty of touches and reboundsthatturnedintogoals.Inthesecond half, Kelsie joined Mia in goals with both girls addingtoourmargin, whileZoealsowentinto WA and her quick drives provided plenty of optionsforKelsieandMia.Thegirlscontinued to push hard against Millicent’s efforts and responded well to feedback at breaks, which resulted in a 13 goal win (35-22). It is exciting to see the girls working so efficiently together asweapproachfinals.

Under 17’s: - We knew this week could go either way against Millicent having won one a piece so far The girls have been working hard to ensure they present strong options to the ball and this was particularly evident during thefirstquarterwhichsawusgainafivepoint lead. Our second quarter, however, was a different story Only scoring three goals we put a huge amount of pressure on our defenders to keep us in the game Our defenders met the challenge, keeping Millicent to just seven goals. The second half saw the same solid structure, positive decision making and confident passages of play that were evident in the first quarter, allowing the girls to extend their lead and completethegamewithanimpressive18goal win. It was an outstanding team effort, with everyoneworkinghardtoplaytheirpart.Best players for round 13 were Stella Mobbs and Tora Jones Both girls displayed a strong defensive performance, and heavily contributedtoouroverallresult.

C Grade: - Another strong win for us over Millicent this week, 40-21. It was a slow and messy start however the girls were able to compose themselves and really take control of the game in the second quarter We welcomed back Shay Merrett after 2 weeks off and she offered us great drives, second efforts and voice when transitioning the ball fromdefencetoattack.Thegirlsappliedgreat defensive pressure through the mid court which led to several interceptsand turnovers. Tara Fleming and Kahlia Egan fed beautifully into the circle all day Another strong team effort with the girls ready to finish off the seasonwell.

B Grade: - Another close encounter with one of the tops teams. We definitely have the goods but can not seem to put that together for the full 60 minutes. Brianna and Katie worked tirelessly in defence against some tall and strong opponents. Zarly had her best gameyetatWDstoppingthedriveandgetting her hands to some great ball. Amelia and Maddy drove and fed well with Georgia and Ava moving well with some accurate shooting. We have 3 games left, lets make them strong and put together for the full 4 quartersandhopefullyacoupleofwinsonthe board.Awards:

A Reserve: - We started strongly this week getting lots of the play and taking advantage of early missed shots, however a lot of errors, bad decision making and rushed passed saw us finish the quarter 6 quals down. After the quarter time break we came out on a role and wereplayingalotmoreconsistentnetballand got a great run on bridging this gap at one stage with some great pressure all over court, however we couldn’t maintain this lifted intensity and allowed Millicent to claw it back to an even quarter Some changes to the defence circle in the 3rd saw Millicent increase their lead slightly, and some further changes in the 4th actually saw us win that quarter so we know it is possible when we meet them again Our defense line in all combos was strong again today with Jessie getting her ands to lots of intercepts, whilst the work the attach line have done at training is showing so now we just need to pull it all together and get the linking right and go into thelastfewgamesoftheyearlikethis

A Grade: - It was a great win this week. We thoughtcarefullyaboutmatchupsandbought a physical game to attempt to disrupt the sleek ball movement of Millicent. Our start wasjustwhatwewanted, withsoliddefensive pressure allows us to create turnovers and capitalise. At half time, we were up by 12 goals. Millicent and ourselves made some changesandtheycameoutfiringwitha6goal run straight out of the blocks. We manage to settle and start working the ball closer to the circle edge for feeding. Macey shot well in wet, windy conditions and stepped up when needed. Stella mobs was able to deny the MillicentGSandkeepheroutofthegame.
