Another strong start to the game against Casterton-Sandford

Megan Wilson was moving and shooting very well in the circle with11from11.

At quarter time we seen Katie GaffneycomeintothegameatGS, and played a strong game for her firstgameoftheseason.

We also had Grace Ferguson and ChloeLinesplaytheirfirstgameof the season and both playing a great defence game, having turn oversanddefections.

Driving hard in the mid-court was Tamara Janeway, passing with precision into the circle alongside CoachZenaCreek.

17’s - We came up against the strong North girls today, even though we didn’t come away with the win my girls played a really good strong game. Lucy and Imogen worked well together in the goal circle in the first half, with AlexandCharlottebackingthemupatWAand C.

Under 11s - A terrific game by the 11’s on Saturday against North. Its pleasing to see improvement already especially in footwork andpassing.SophieCdidsometerrificshotsas well as Isla who impressed with some great movement. Ayla having her first go in centre played well. Our two little ones impressed us, Gracie and Zoe both played well in the centre court, backing each other up and leading to space. Kelsey was the intercept queen in GK, likewise for Mackenna. Birthday girl Sophie S had another great defensive game Eliza cleaned up her footwork as the game went on which was fantastic Emily picked up and chased all the loose balls and was able to then get the ball to a team mate. Phoebe again had a great game with some great passing to her team mates. That win is not to far away, lets work hard at trainings and apply what we are learningtoourgame.

13B’s - After a disappointing loss last week these young Westies came out firing against NorthGambier

Hannah Jackson and Isobel Richards dominated the goal circle, shooting with great accuracy They were feed with some fantastic passing by Mackenzie Fisher and Savannah Riddoch.

In defence Aggie Thomas and Ruby Lamb combined well to force the North players into making errors. Both girls chased down every loose ball with support from Chaneil Cowland in the midcourt. At half time scores were 19-7 up.

Going into the 3rd quarter the only change made for West were Savannah and Aggie to the bench. With Harper Lindner hitting the courtatCentreandMollyThomasinatGK.The Westiesdidn’tmissabeatwinningyetanother quarter

Throughout the last 2 quarters North kept making positional changes to try and peg back the difference with no success. Our defenders played an absolute blinder and reallyputthepressureonnorth’sshooters

Our best player for the game we’re Holly JacksonandMatildaBadenoch.

In the second half the ever reliable Aleisha came on taking over the GA position, she played against a defender who was at least a foot taller than her but it didn’t make a difference to her game. A quiet achiever she worked well with Immy to keep the North defendersontheirtoes.

MacycameonattheGKpositioninthesecond half and gave us a bit of height in our defence team. I was proud of my team the way they never gave up and fought right to the end of the game. Game day awards 1st best – Alex Hudsonand2ndbest–TullyLindner

C Grade - Another great win thanks to a solid first quarter, which allowed us to maintain a lead for the whole game Again fabulous defence efforts awarding us with many turnovers, and then some brilliant attacking efforts from our goalies despite the challenge from the very talented north defenders. Our midcourteffortsandfeedingintoourshooters was on point, with great skill being presented down the court with some rewarding turnovers. We look forward to heading to East for another challenging game this week, and then celebrating back at the club with our event of the season, Groovin the Roo! A tough game this week and we were unable to match the defensive pressure and physicality of West While there’s plenty to take away and develop, the girls didn’t give up the fight. We worked our way into the game winning the third quarter and breaking even in the fourth. Unfortunately, we were unable to minimise the lead that West created in the first half, going down 28-44. It was great to welcomeHannahFoxintotheteamforher first game this season, she added consistency and energy for us through the mid court. A better game this week with us level pegging for the first half Our third qtr unfortunately had that come undone. But much better all over court this week Georgia moved brilliantly in goals and converted nicely and with the injection of Amelia in the centre the ball moved through the court with ease Our defenders again worked tirelessly and seem to be "almost there" each time it came down there. Let’s train hard this weekandgoagain.
