A new, state-of-the-art police station is on the cards for the area of Bhamshela in Ndwedwe. This comes after the item was discussed at the ordinary meeting of the Ndwedwe Local Task Team (LTT), chaired by Mayor Samuel

Mfeka, recently.

The meeting heard how the Nsuze police station, one of the busiest police stations in Ilembe District, would be rebuilt closer to the town of Bhamshela.

Another point of concern for the LTT, and for the entire community of Ndwedwe, is poor cellphone network connectivity in many areas of Ndwedwe. The municipality indicated that it has taken note, and further engagements would be embarked upon with the affected cellphone network operators in this regard.

Mayor Mfeka has also reported that the Community Safety Forum (CSF) had been successfully established. Its primary task will be to help set up Community Policing Fora in all the wards under Ndwedwe Municipality.

The LTT also discussed at length the growing problem of teenage violence in Ndwedwe schools.
