WEEK 3 READING: TITLE OF READING

Question 1: What is Pictorial Space according to Le Corbusier? (Maximum 100 words) Based on Le Corbusier, Pictorial Space can be difined as an irremediable space that cannot be entered or circulated through. It shuold be viewed from certain distance, and it is resigned to frontality. Then, the combination of frontality and distance allow knowledge of the real by inference. These terms of Le Corbusier are three-fold, inculding pure extention object, the constellation of objects wedge together and color and texture handed in a manner.

Question 2: The Flatness of Le Corbusier’s painting’s are attributable to two properties. What are they? And what are these pitted against?(Maximum 100 words) The first one is about pure extension. Le Corbusier considered the distance is reaaly essential in drawings and drawinfs of surfaces was not complex, which was based on the reality,The second one is color and tecture. Le Corbusier didn’t use black to enforce the sense of the continuous from edge to edge,he thought white was better to present continuity. The continuity of edges was really important. To show the depth, the color and texture were uesd.

WEEK 4 READING: TITLE OF READING Complete your reading before attempting these questions:

Question 1: Explain the difference between Pictoral (in this case perspectival) space and Projection? (Maximum 100 words) Perspectival drawings is three dinensional space with vanishing points, so it shows the infinite depth of drawings and the realistic view. On the contratry, projections does not have the vanishing points. With the parallel lines, the projection measuable and more accurate. The view can be seen in pictoral space and projection is also different. Perspectival presents the front scene. Compared with that, axomoetric projrction shows more angles and the imaginary part can also be seen,

Question 2: Where did Axonometric projection first arise, and why? (Maximum 100 words) Axonometric first arose for military use. Because Axonometric projection is measurable and precise, the three-dimensional trajectories of projectiles can be easily represented by Axonometric projection. In military context, the numerical accuracy is really important, so Axonometric projection was used at that time. Then, in eighteenth and ninetheenth centuries, Axonometric projection was also used inmechanisation industrialisation.

ILLUSTRATED MARIO’S NEW WORLD

This is the final mario world. The color is based on the original images. The curve of all pillars was difficult to trace, so it had a little difference compared with hand drawing. By using illustrate, more details were added. There are several texture on pillars, platforms and ground.
