Masoud Azodi, MD, and Gulden Menderes, MD, will now care for women with gynecologic malignancies at the Smilow Cancer Hospital Care Center in Trumbull, CT and at Bridgeport Hospital. Together, they also offer women at increased risk of gynecological cancers evaluation for earlier detection of disease, and risk assessment. Dr. Azodi is a Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences and Director of Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery, and Dr. Menderes is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences. Both physicians will continue to see patients at Smilow Cancer Hospital’s main campus in New Haven as well. Dr. Azodi is board certified in both OB/GYN and in Gynecologic Oncology. He treats gynecologic cancers and pre-cancers and has a special interest in minimally invasive surgical techniques, particularly robotic surgery. He has
performed many minimally invasive surgeries for the management of gynecologic diseases, including more than 2,000 conventional laparoscopic and more than 2,000 roboticassisted cases. Dr. Menderes specializes in treating pre-cancers and cancers of the gynecologic sites, utilizing laparoscopic and robotic approaches as indicated. She has presented at multiple national and international conferences, and has a strong interest in minimally invasive surgery. She has received multiple awards including the ACOG National Faculty Award and the APGO Excellence in Teaching Award. She is fellowship-trained in both robotic/laparoscopic minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and Gynecologic Oncology. Drs. Azodi and Menderes bring their expertise to patients in Fairfield County and a medical center that offers patients one beautiful, convenient location for a wide variety of services.
