Smilow Cancer Hospital Cingari Family Boutique
The Cingari Family Boutique, located at Smilow Cancer Hospital in New Haven, offers services and support to meet the special needs of people with cancer. Patients can receive advice and assistance from our specially trained, caring staff, who can suggest ways to minimize and manage changes in appearance resulting from cancer treatment. Our staff respects each patient’s individuality and understands the importance of creating a plan throughout and following treatment. Select services are also offered at additional Smilow Cancer Hospital locations and are available for all patients.
Services Offered:
Some of the many services offered through the Cingari Family Boutique include:
• Breast prostheses and bra fittings by a certified fitter
• Bras, camisoles, swimsuits and other specialized apparel for women who have had a mastectomy
• Hair alternatives, including a large selection of hats and head coverings
• Hairdressing services for men and women, including head shaves and wig fittings by appointment
• Non-metallic deodorant and specialized skin-care products
• Decorative canes
• Billing services for major insurance
The Beyond Beauty Experience:
The Boutique also hosts a Beyond Beauty Program that is an interactive program for patients in active cancer treatment. It addresses skin changes, hair loss, scalp care and nail changes while building confidence and self-esteem that patients may lose because of the physical changes that come with treatment. The two-hour sessions are facilitated by licensed cosmetologists from Smilow Cancer Hospital and are available at select Smilow locations.

To Make Your Appointment:
Appointments are required for wigs, post-surgical bras and camisoles, mastectomy bras, and breast prostheses. Scheduling ahead reduces wait time and assures that staff can verify prescription and insurance information.
