Who says you can’t get over fuckbois? You’re smart, confident, caring, and hot. (I mean, really, who’s not?) Yes, you make mistakes, and sometimes you fuck things up. But that doesn’t mean that you don’t know how to deal with your own shit. You kill someone? You bury them. Someone left you? You get over it. Has anyone ever told you that you’re not good enough? Well, fuck ’em. You don’t need anybody to reaffirm your value. Oh wait, you need this one thing though—true friendship. Today, we’re proud to present three bad-ass black girls—Virgo Giselle, Aquarius Esther, and Scorpio Liya—who’re getting over fuckbois and banding together to teach them a lesson. Too many boys have told these girls that they are not enough or—worse—that they’re too much, that they’re too fragile or too sincere. Actually, it hasn’t only been the boys, has it? The whole, entire world’s been telling black girls the same thing. How Black Girls Get Over Fuckbois, Vol. 1 is a celebration of black girls and their bonds, their bodies, and their agency while they work through this bullshit. Maybe we’re finally tired of seeing these women getting hurt for others’ amusement. Sure, we love happy endings, but do we really feel like it’s the height of happiness for Tiana to marry the Frog Prince? Do we truly believe A Raisin in the Sun’s Beneatha Younger will be happier leaving
