ear Friends, fellow Cattlemen and Valued Customers,
WELCOME to our 41st Annual Bull Sale. Our family sends greetings to all of you from the beautiful mountains of Southern Utah. We look forward to seeing you and hearing from you. We’d like to extend our gratitude to all our past customers. We really appreciate your business. It is the most exciting and rewarding time in history to be in the cattle industry. The renewed prosperity in agriculture is the most promising part of our economy and is opening opportunity for all our younger generations to be involved in the industry we are all so passionate about. We have something for everyone in this sale and the quality is as good as you can find anyplace in America. These cattle have worked for us, they have worked for hundreds of others and they will work for you. They are backed by many generations of highly productive cow families that have STOOD THE TEST OF TIME. Three years ago Jirl Buck of Madill, OK bought a bred cow for $6,700. Her heifer calf sold in his sale for $50,000 and he resold the cow for $20,000. THIS HEIFER WENT ON TO BE THE SUPREME GRAND CHAMPION over all breeds at the prestigious TULSA STATE FAIR. Jones Show Cattle form Ohio and Trennepohl Farms of Indiana bought a show heifer for $6,000. A year later they resold her for $9,500 and the man that bought her sold her heifer calf for $36,000. THESE ARE NOT ORDINARY CATTLE. IF YOU WANT THE BEST WE HAVE THEM IN VOLUME. I am 80 years old and have spent my life breeding and selecting these cattle for PERFORMANCE, MATERNAL TRAITS AND EYE APPLEALING LOOKS that you always enjoy seeing. 46 years of A.I.ing and using the best bulls in the country has produced one of Americas greatest cowherds. These great cows are the basis of our program that goes back many generations and have been selected for fertility, maternal traits, structural soundness, performance and natural fleshing ability, which is a function of body type.
These traits can best be analyzed by visual appraisal from the eyes of a stockman and assessed along with performance data. THE RIGHT KIND OF PROBLEM FREE, PROFITABLE CATTLE NEVER GOES OUT OF STYLE. This is a FAMILY OPERATION and I am very grateful for the love, help and interest of my wonderful wife and family. A good family is the greatest blessing that any one can have in life and we believe strongly that families are eternal and forever with God in Heaven. Family traditions are part of ranch and farm life in America, fostering the passage of knowledge between the generations who take part in this unique and wonderful way of life. We are so grateful for all the hard work and dedication of our wonderful herdsmen, Josue Garcia and Jose Guzman who have been with us for many years. The day never gets too long for them and they know every part of this operation. WE LOVE AMERICA and feel very blessed to have lived in this great land. Our Country and our Freedom is being threatened as never before. We pray every day that our Country and way of life will survive. We appreciate your confidence in our cattle and in our program. Your friendship means more to us than anything else. We look forward to seeing you sale day and talking with you on the phone. GOD BLESS YOU AND GOD BLESS AMERICA. Sincerely, yours for a better cattle business, The Gib Yardley Family PO Box 288, Beaver Utah 84713 Home: 435-438-2424 Cell 435-310-0041

TERMS & CONDITIONS
TERMS: No cattle will leave sale yards until full settlement has been made immediately after the sale. Payment terms are cash or a good check. All “returned” or insufficient checks will be immediately turned over to the District Attorney for immediate prosecution. This is a felony and charges will be filed. BIDDING: All animals will sell to the highest bidder. Any disputes or challenges regarding bids will be settled by the auctioneer whose decision will be final. RISK: All animals are at the owner’s risk prior to their sale and become the property of the buyer as soon as the animal is declared sold by the auctioneer at which time the buyer assumes all risk. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Announcements from the auction block will take precedence over any printed matter. BREEDING DATES: Heifers will start calving February 1st and cows February 20th. Most of the cows will calve in March with some April and a few into May. WE HAVE HIGHLIGHTED THE SIRE TO WHICH THE VETERINARIAN, TO THE BEST OF HIS ABILITY, HAS DETERMINED THE ANIMAL BRED TO. However, we cannot guarantee they will calve from this mating. HEALTH: Every animal in this sale, to the best of our knowledge, is healthy and eligible for interstate shipment. Cows were vaccinated last spring for IBR, P13, BVD, BRSV, Vibrio, 5-way lepto and trichomoniasis. The heifer calves have been fully vaccinated and boostered. All cows that have had calves are vaccinated in January with Scour Guard 4 and 8 Way. They just need a booster and the bred heifers should get two shots, three weeks apart before they calve. All Cattle have had Dectomax, and given OneShot Ultra 8. Calves have had two shots Bova Shield Gold and OneShot Ultra 8 BREEDING GUARANTEE: All females sold under the conditions “safe in calf” have been pregnancy checked by a licensed veterinarian and sell with no further guarantee. No guarantee is given that bred females will deliver a live calf. All heifer calves are guaranteed breeders. If the heifer failed to breed, we require a statement from the veterinarian who checked her, stating the problem and that the problem was not due to negligence or improper management, which will void the guarantee. This guarantee may be void if 1) a female is highly obese, has been shown extensively past July 1st and has not steadily been attempted to be bred and 2) if she is flushed at any time in the first year after the date of the sale. These two exemptions do not apply if the female is examined by our vet to have an underdeveloped reproductive tract that would have been present at the time she was sold. Infections or other enlargement do not constitute “undeveloped.” 100% of the purchase price less salvage value of the female will be credited to the next sale. No other expenses occurred in the female will be reimbursed to the buyer. In cases where the animal is subject to hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques or damage caused by foreign bodies after the sale, this contract is null and void. The seller is not responsible for sickness not apparent at time of sale. It is useless to breed more than two heat cycles, artificially. If they haven’t settled artificially then, they must be put with a fertile bull for the summer. After salvage value we give you credit in next year’s sale or give a heifer of equal value. In no event will the seller be responsible for more than the purchase price, less salvage value. AI CERTIFICATE: The purchase of A.I. certificates is the responsibility of the buyer, as well as, the registration of all calves born after sale day. REGISTRATION CERTIFICATES: Supplied on eligible animals upon request on the sales slip at time of settlement or within 20 days. Leave the name and address to which you would like purchases transferred on your sales slip. CONTRACT: The above Terms and Conditions of this sale shall constitute a contract between buyer and seller and be equally binding on both. Animals that are resold following the sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and obligations of the two parties connected there to are not covered by these Terms and Conditions. TRUCKING: All trucking, pricing and trucking fees are the responsibility of the buyer, but we will help you all we can with coordinating loads.
LIABILITIES: Although accidents at livestock sales seldom occur, everyone attending this sale does so at their own risk. We try to keep the most accurate records possible and have bull tight fences, but once on a rare occasion, accidents of breeding occur that we are not aware of or cannot control. We will do everything we can to determine the correct parentage, but cannot guarantee it. The owners and employees of Yardley Cattle Co. assume no liability, legal or otherwise in the event of an accident, bodily injury, theft, error or omissions in catalogs or parentage verification. Cattle are kept in their own individual breeding groups until the first to mid July. Due to size and layout of the Forest permit it is necessary to mix breeding groups at that time. Only our own personal herd sires are taken on the mountain. Select groups of cattle will stay with one sire all summer long, but on the majority of late calving cows we cannot guarantee sire parentage unless a parentage identification test is ran. IGENITY labs runs this procedure for around $30.

Yardley Genetics....
zzThe offering of 2013 z
16 Head of Show and Donor Heifer Calves 127 Elite Simmental, Angus, & Maine Anjou Bred Heifers and Cows • PICTURED COWS! There are a lot of cows that are not pictured that are just as beautiful and productive as those pictured. We simply ran out of time! • We are proud to offer you our 2013 Females. No matter where you travel from you will not be disappointed. We have strived to raise quality genetics for generations. This is a program that has stood the test of time. There are many Donor quality females in our offering and many more that will make solid cattle for you. You’ll find that our “Focus is truly on the Female” November 23rd. With the female as the priority, all else will fall into place. • Sorting down to 16 head of heifers, represented within these pages, is perhaps one of the most enjoyable and difficult things we do as a family all year. We discuss Granddams from years gone by, how they move, and what we should name all of them. The one thing that we really focus on is the ability to make cows. There is huge donor potential in the open division. They are sorted from our top replacements, and come from a long line of top maternal genetics from the heart of our program. • We take great pride in our “clean up” bulls, we call them herd bulls. Many of them come from top herds across the Nation or are hand selected from our bull calves each year. We know their lineage for generations, we know how their mothers milk, what their body condition score is, what type of feet and udder quality they have, and we only use the best. Our bulls in the pasture are of equal or higher quality as those in the tank and take pride in thier genetic merit. Don’t hesitate to buy a female that is pasture bred!

One of my most memorable cows is F119, Y82’s dam. We kept her until she was seventeen years old and she ran out on the desert most of her life. She was a brockel faced cow, with distinct facial markings and was very good at hiding her calves. I spent many cold winter days searching on the fourwheeler for her calf to weigh and tag it. She weaned fifteen calves that averaged 666#! In ’02 her heifer topped our Wahoo, NE heifers selling for $5,500, & in ’07 she had the second high gaining bull selling for $3,800. The bottom line is that this beautiful black baldy heifer is loaded with performance and longevity and will be a sound investment.

Rodney & Tawnya Teichert are moving to Bismark, ND where Rodney is going to be the herdsman for Schaff Angus Valley. This summer I took all my kids that were home on a trip to Schaffs, Connealy Angus Ranch in Nebraska and the last horse sale that Haythorns in Nebraska were having, where we bought 2 colts. Kelly Schaff is one of the world’s very best and most brilliant cattle breeders. We were all very impressed with him, his ranch, family and cattle. I think he has one of the best herds of cattle in the world. He sold over 500 bulls that averaged $12,500 and over 200 females that averaged over $8,000. They had 1 bull and 1 heifer that brought $400,000 each both last year and the year before. After we had been back a couple of weeks, Kelly called and said his herdsman was quitting and he would like to hire them. They had a hard time deciding to go. They plan on coming back and working on our ranch in 2 or 3 years. It was with tear filled eyes that I am letting them go. But I feel it is a great opportunity for both of them and I told them that they can learn more there in 2 months about breeding cattle than they can in 4 years of college. They are such a hard working young couple and so congenial. We love them so much and will really miss them. We will be praying ever day for their safety and well being. GOD BLESS YOU BOTH.

Dear Gib, Just a note to tell you thanks for your insistence on breeding cattle that perform well and breed true. We here at Trennepohl Farms have been very satisfied with the cattle that we have purchased from your operation. The T85 macho cow that Jeff purchased from you is fast becoming a popular donor around here. As you know we enjoyed great success last winter with STCC Long Haul, a T85 son. Claire has had a great summer with “Y1 B Dazzle” and we look forward to her production years. She has a lot to offer! Again, on behalf of Jeff, Chris, myself and the rest of us, thank you for your continued efforts to produce cattle that work. It is a privilege to work with you and your family. Regards, Scott Trennepohl Middletown, IN

Yardley Genetics built on cow families that flat out work Our family will host our 41st annual bull sale this coming spring. The females in this sale are the dams and sisters to those bulls. Take your time to go out in the bull pen’s and study them, they are an impressive set. We couldn’t be more proud of our personal herd sires. They are real world cattle for real world cattlemen. We travel the nation to make sure our herd bull battery is as strong as what we have in the tank. They get their own set of cows and are expected to work for a living. The bottom line is they have to produce or we don’t keep them. Try our Yardley Genetics. We guarantee you won’t be disappointed. They are backed by solid cow families generations deep. Cows get individually mated at Yardley Cattle Co. Performance, eye appeal, brith weight ect are evaluated and paired accordingly to how Dad thinks they will cross the best. We don’t breed to based off of an API number, or to try and make a purebred, dad has always bred the cattle to make them better. Dad has spent his life breeding and establishing a cow base that is second to none. We focus on udder quality, disposition, and actual individual performance, things that an EPD can’t and won’t tell you. You want to see how our cattle work, walk out in our bull and heifer pens, the proof is in progeny. Talk to us about volume discount on semen. Let us help you put Yardley Genetics to work for you! Bring your semen tank on sale day to save on shipping! Call ahead for your oder.

GCF Billy the Kid 1/2 sIMM 1/2 angus REG # 2548887
Sire: MCC Cupid by OCC Legend Dam: GCF Miss Reflection by CNS Dream On Billy the Kid did not disappoint. He has sired a group of calves second to none. They are big bodied, stout made, and there just isn’t any throw aways in them. They exhibit a soft made, easy doing look that is popular in everyone’s cow base. Billy the Kid was a member of Grindstone Creek Farms Pen of Three in Denver 2011. He has quickley earned a place in our Herd sire pen. You’re going to fall in love with his daughters at this years Focus on the Female.
Y1 Whirl of a Dream W361 pb sIMMENTAL REG # 2533644 Sire: CNS Dream ON by Nichols Legacy Dam: Miss Yardley B75 by Whirlaway
Whirl of a Dream was the pick of our Simmental bull calves two years ago. He’s big topped, large scrotaled, with bone and great muscle shape. His dam, B75, has been a top producer for us. She raised this calf at 17 years old, he weaned off at 712# with no creep and she was fat when she came home. A wise cattleman once told me if you love the cow, breed one of her sons and you’ll replicate her. There is performance with power in this pedigree. We couldn’t be more excited about his calf crop. They are functional, big ribbed, thick made cattle with performance. His bull calves last year averaged higher than any other sire group, averaging over $7,000.

Sire: GCC Hard as Steel Dam: Miss Yardley T170 by Dream On x Corrector
We consider this bull one of the very best, if not the best bull we have ever raised. I am as critical a bull buyer as there is in the country and there isn’t one single thing I don’t like about this bull. He has perfect phenotype every place you look at him. I don’t like high tailed cattle. I want them square over that tail head and he is. Jeannie loves his perfect built, moderate sized mother as good as any cow we own. L21 was seven years old when we sold her, she brought $7,700 selling to Greg Kroupa of White Lake, SD. She was as pretty a cow as we’ve ever owned. T170 was her last calf that she had and is as pretty as her dam. Owned with Werning, Goken, Harwood, Healy, and Trennepohl.

GCC Hard As Steel 144w 1/2 sIMMENTAL 1/2 ANGUS asa Reg # 2511031 Sire: SVF Steel Force S701 Dam: OCC Jaunada 898L by OCC Homer
I had the opportunity to go to the Grass to Grid Sale, before I married John. I fell in love with Hard As Steel before I was real sure I was in love with John! I circled his lot number, put a star next to his name, and wrote love this bull in my footnotes. With a 70# BW, 15.67 REA, and a 40.5 yearling scrotal he was one you could like off of paper but he got better after a visual analysis. He is a female maker that is huge bodied with fleshing ability and style. His first calf crop did not disappoint. Owned with Curt Schoner, and Griswold Cattle Company. His mother has been in ET at Griswolds, she is one of the best cows that they purchased from Tim Ohlde. Hard as Steel cost us $12,000. He sired many high dollar cattle for us this past year.
GCC Nickles n Dimes pb sIMMENTAL aSA reg # 2659379
Sire: SVF Steel Force by CNS Dream On Dam: AJE/JF Aunt Joys Elegance by 3C Macho Joy’s Elegance was Grand Champion in Denver in the Junior show and matured into as picture perfect cow as she was show heifer. A true test of a great show heifer doesn’t come in the showing, it comes in her ability to produce and transmit the same look and quality in her offspring. Joy’s produced $106,000 in progeny sales this past year on four head with one of the most consistent flushes ever produced at Griswold Cattle. The two yearling heifers produced are proving to be as competitive in the show ring as their great dam. Nickels n’ Dimes is big topped and complete with plenty of rib, dimension, style and power with a killer look. This is the kind of bull to change a program with! Owned with Griswold Cattle.

3/4 sIMMENTAL 1/4 Angus asa reg # 2690517
Sire: STF Shocking Dream by Dream On Dam: Miss Yardley W151 by 3D x Treasure x N130 Great cattle it seems are built by great cow families and the E119 cow family has been one of the most profitable we have ever owned. It doesn’t matter the generation of E119 falls back through the pedigree chart they are destined to be good. N130 is a daughter of K114, E119’s best daughter and both donors. all three of these great females have produced sale toppers, the quality doesn’t get any better. Ensign is a bull that stuck out as soon as you walked in the pen. With plenty of rib, bone and power along with the look it takes to make class winners and sale toppers. Then you looked to his pedigree and got even more excited. He’s the real deal and we couldn’t be more excited about him!

Sire: Shocking Dream by Dream On Dam: Miss Fancy Yardley T85 by 3C Macho
Long Haul’s dam was the pick of our heifer calf crop in 2007 by Trennophl and Rist of Indiana. Long Haul bred 45 head of cows this spring and held his flesh as well as any bull we have ever used. He was Intermediate Grand Champion bull in Denver 2012. He’s moderate framed, cool made, and his cow family stands second to none. His Granddam produced the $21,000 high seller from last years sale that sold to Jones Show Cattle and Tulle Cattle Co. A maternal sister to his dam produced Sugar Plum, a crowd favorite in our 2009 sale that sold to Wayne and Barb Ohlrichs. Sugar Plum produced a bull calf this year that Wayne and Barb said will be big time. Case and point is this cow family will PRODUCE!
Yardley Wah Wah Z303
3/4 sIMMENTAL Reg # Sire: Billy the Kid Dam: Miss Yardley U154 by Ranchhand x E119
Wah Wah was the pick of our herd for our next herd sire in our bull battery. With his flawless phenotype that combines a massive hind quarter with a big top, deep chest, smooth shoulder, big hoof and ideal leg set in a unique blend of power and softness. He has an equally impressive set of weights with a huge spread from 78# at birth to 764# at weaning. His quiet disposition and awesome pedigree that traces back to our herd matriarch and donor E119 and is filled with equally impressive herd matrons, make Wah Wah the complete package and impeccable addition to our bull battery that he is.
Yardley Zion X288
Angus Reg # 17036377 Sire: SCC Apache Brave Dam: Miss Yardley S504 by SAF Bando 5175
has been one of our very top producers, she does not miss. Zion was S504 a bull that stood out as a top individual from the time we weaned. He had as much rib, rear quarter, power and overall mass as any bull in the pen. We just weaned his first calf crop, they have performance and eye appeal. He was severely hurt as a yearling, we babied him along for a solid year and he recovered. He is as pretty a mature bull as you could picture with the pedigree and performance to stand out from the crowd.
ohl Next to Heaven 17z ANGUS REG # 17374374
Sire: Plaineview Lutton E102 Dam: TC Freedom
OHL Next to Heaven was the leadoff Lot 1 bull in our good friends Wayne and Barb Ohlrichs sale this past spring. They felt he was one of the best bulls that they have ever raised of any breed. He has performance, muscle, body, smoothness, structure, style and balance - he has it all. You could label this bull any breed you wanted and be exited about him, there just isn’t many Angus bulls that are made this good! When you study him from the ground up it’s hard to find a hole in him. It’s pretty easy to see why he created such a stir in Denver, he’s the real deal!

Yardley Doc Skipper
Angus Reg # 16248110 Sire: OCC Doctor Dam: Miss Yardley N181 by Xplorer by Krugerand 490
Great cattle come from great cow families and Yardley Skipper hails from one of the best. His maternal sister sold in our Focus on the Female 2009 for $16,200 to Schnoor Sisters of Chowcilla, CA. Wayne and Barb Ohlrichs were the contending bidder and went on to purchase Miss Yardley N181 for $20,000, she is a hit and never miss cow. You’ll see from the feature lots in this sale that Skipper is following the tradition of the cow family behind him. He is functional and stout with the bone and body that you seldom see in PB Angus. He has been an extremely consistent producer of quality.
SCC Apache Brave
ANGUS REG # 15759398 Sire: OCC Legend 616L Dam: Y Annie Coed 928 (Krugerrand granddaughter)
Apache Brave is going to go down as one of the greatest sires of Yardley Cattle Co. His progeny are top of the pen with 11 head of bulls averaging $4,568. He is an easy calving sire that produces cattle that have look and style. Grass fat cattle are what we need to breed. He always maintained his flesh while breeding cows and he wasn’t a bull that needed to primped and pampered. Apache was a moderator that kept performance and bred depth and rib into his progeny. Owned with Matt Sherwood.
SooLine North Country Angus Reg # 16996619 Sire: HF Kodiak 5R Dam: Soo Line Annie by Cudlobe Yellowstone
A complete out-cross to most American pedigrees, North Country brings thickness, big bodied, strong uddered, eye appealing look to the table. Sired by Kodiak and out of Soo Line Annie. Soo Line states North Country “is the result mating of the two greatest individuals they have ever owned.” Soo Line Annie K was the Champion Female at the World Angus Forum in 2009. She sold for $100,000 and Kodiak sold for $150,000. One of the most exciting aspects of North Country comes from the consistency of his dam to produce high dollar, eye appealing progeny. The power of a cow family is immeasurable. North Country carries plenty of look and style along with an extra dose of performance, bone, and scrotal development.
Yardley Royal Jet
ANGUS ASA REG #16704437 Sire: OCC Jet Stream Dam: Miss Yardley R192 by SC Stockman
Royal Jet is the type of bull that defines where we are taking our program; Soft made cattle that carry performance, thickness, fleshing ability, and style. OCC Jet Stream is now deceased, he stands as one of Ohlde’s greatest herd sires. Look at the performance this bull carries coupled with a perfect phenotype. This is as good as Angus bull as you will find anyplace. We used him to clean up all of our Angus heifers this past year. He’s the type of bull that will add belly, rib, and doability, without taking pounds away from your bottom line.
