“We can do no great things, only small things with great love.” ~Mother Teresa We all involved in education, have a responsibility towards improving the social fabric of our society. Understanding its responsibility towards the society and keeping in sync with its motto ‘We learn to serve’….Cambridge school , Noida organized a Theatre Workshop for children from ‘Setu Shiksha Jyoti Kendra’. Around twenty children (10-14 yrs) participated in the seventeen days workshop ( 16th May’11 to 7th June’11 ). The aim of the workshop was to provide the participant with a fun filled environment that could help break inhibition, stimulate creative thinking, give opportunities to work in teams and go through a process of creating enactments to develop language skills. In a fun filled environment, while playing the drama games or working in groups, so many times I saw inhibition breaking, language development happening body language improving….The children have left me spell bound! It’s been wonderful to see their involvement level, intense desire to learn and improve and honest efforts to ‘make’ the performances happen. The workshop has further strengthened my faith that drama is the most potent tool that can promote the cause of education. –Annu Mehta

The

workshop at Cambridge School was an excellent effort by Annu Mehta for my students. They were so thrilled and excited during the entire workshop. Along with fun and excitement were the hidden learning experiences….I was surprised to see their improved confidence levels, pronunciations and accents. I am grateful to the school for a workshop like this.

This

summer workshop was very useful for the children. The children have improved on their learning and speaking skills. They enjoyed a lot! These type of workshops should be done more often for the children. I am very thankful to Cambridge school and Annu ma’am. I really enjoyed this workshop.

Those fond school memories brought me back to these children

and reminded me of my school days, when we worked as a team promoting social causes. I was amazed at their skills, intelligence and the will to learn. Annu ma’am along with Seema ma’am brought in a new wave of teaching methodology in this workshop with their ‘karkhana’, making these children gain confidence and enjoy learning. Most important, the drama concept helped them participate and get rid of their hesitation. -Yashpreet -Alumni,Cambridge School, Noida
