The Symptoms (HU): Head first or The Contractions of Expanding Time
DATE: 26 Januar 2018 8 pm 27 Januar 2018 8 pm TICKET PRICE: 2400 HUF / 1900 HUF (student) General Season Pass and Twin Pass accepted „There is something very beautiful about ’not yet’.” – Arno Schuitemaker From beginning to end, I will wait for you develops in one seamless flow, ever-changing as it goes on – and on. The performers surrender themselves to their movements, on their own yet continously connected. Initially, the twilight of darkness and dim lights evokes only vague contours of their bodies.
TICKET PRICE: 2400 HUF / 1900 HUF (student) General Season Pass, Twin Pass and Home Court Pass accepted We don’t remember how we were born, and we won’t be able to tell the story of our dying. Giving birth is an equally elementalborderline event, outside real space and time — a rarefied experience. The four dancers rely on their own personal memories of giving birth, including body functions, traumatic and euphoric at the same time. They try to turn inside out everything that happened to them inside the unconscious realm, beyond the closed eyes and beneath the skin.

The Grammy nominee violinist Kala Ramnath was born into a family which have regenerated the Indian Classical Music in several ways and which have raised some of the best violinists both in North- and South India in the 20th century. Her ancestors – besides being one of the first to use the violin in classical music – made a huge impact on both Hindustani and Carnatic music.
Endless game, art of precision and self-parody or fake documentary insight into the creative processes of art making? The scenography is an ever transforming live installation in which the dancers are either just present, or choreograph and animate each other. The roles are changing all the time, direction and free will become fluid and open questions. What seemed clear all turn upside down in the next moment.

In his series of events David Somló is exploring the borders of listening in the plain, empty space of Trafó Studió. During the event the live composition of multichannel sound and light is slowly unfolding for the senses. Operating with simple elements, a nature like, immersive environment is created around the listener. Thus the Listnening Club becomes an event, where the sum of the attention of the audience creates a community experience.
As the development of self-driving technologies progresses and autonomous vehicles become more ubiquitous, the economic and social mechanisms, ways of working, public transportation and the infrastructure policies are in constant shift. The AI-driven installation seeks to explore the possible effects of these tremendous changes. In collaboration with Studio of Young Artists’ Association.

Their partnership produces a theatrical dance rich in passion, absurdity and humour. A highly visual and musical performance, just filming is also a heart-felt tribute to cinematic art.

Just like in a tale. But what are they hunting for if only three of them are present in a sterile space? For each others? For themselves? At all, what kind of forest could we talk about at a place where not only trees but even grass does not grow? Who holds weapon and who will be a booty at the end?
DATE: 6 April 2018 8 pm 7 April 2018 8 pm TICKET PRICE: 2800 HUF / 2200 HUF (student) General Season Pass, Twin Pass and 200% Dance Pass accepted Louise Lecavalier explores new territory in this solo and duet freely inspired by two Italo Calvino characters, the nonexistent knight and his squire. The stage is a fight ring, a self-contained experimental world where a thousand battles, ephemeral or extreme, are waged. Avid for adventures and misadventures, the two antiheroes allow glimpses of their ideals and disillusionments to show in a mad, unclassifiable dance.

One is active, the other seemingly dead. Together, they dance a forced duet. A wonky dance in which one tries to manipulates the other into an ideal sparring partner, a dummy, or a dead thing. Along the way they explore the elusive boundaries between intimacy and perversity.

For twenty-five years, Wayne McGregor has been making choreography that interrogates life through the experience of the body, moving intelligently in space and time. His practice has been far-reaching and sought out collaborators from a diverse range of artistic and scientific fields to investigate the nature of embodied cognition.

In A Love Supreme, highly intuitive free expression emerges from blues-based, rather straightforward musical structures; the work is renowned for its exploration of the tension between tonal and rhythmical complexity and simplicity.
