MA•ZE is the lovechild of dance artists Nagy Emese, Kristóf Várnagy and Jessica Simet. Former creatives of DART dance company, they decided to embark on this journey together in 2016 and share a mutual interest in creating quality work that resonates with and reaches a wide range of audience.
In our series you will see on stage the Santoor which naturally creates a sense of serenity and bliss. It is a dulcimer-like instrument from Kashmir that was introduced in the repertoire of Indian Classical Music only in the last century by Shivkumar Sharma, and his first disciple Harjinder Pal Singh, who will perform this night.

The performance is inspired by the eponymous poem by Sándor Weöres, a poetic vision that is free-ranging, erratic and unfettered by rules, as Weöres’s poetry oHUFen is. In short, no age limit or PG rating applies. This special linguistic idiom is reenacted here on stage with the backing of paintings, drawings and animation by two artists, live.
Rachid Ouramdane is at the forefront of dance innovation, extending definitions of performer and choreographer and blurring the line between dance and documentary. In a haunting duet, two dancers perform lonely, intensely physical solos. Through hypnotic, whirling gestures, each woman’s body paints a raw, captivating self-portrait.

How can one person become real for the other? Can the desire for one another remain forever unfulfilled? The reality and penetrability of bodies is an eternal question. Is the other person truly real? Must we always fall back from a relationships’ incomprehensible insecurity to our own cruel private reality?

Freak Fusion (HU): fightinGravity
DATE: 2 October 2017 8 pm TICKET PRICE: 2400 HUF / 1900 HUF (student) General Season Pass and Twin Pass accepted Hungarian new circus company Freak Fusion is taming gravity in its new piece. The juggling tools fall sooner or later, no matter how much training the acrobats survive. The tightrope walker has to return to the ground, cannot remain in the air – gravity always calls him. The artists of Freak Fusin want to resist gravity.
