Chairman’s Statement Hospitality investments are continuously growing all over the world. There will be approximately one million additional rooms available for sale in the coming years, and total available hotel rooms will reach 12,5 million. More than 70 % of these investments have been planned in Asia/ Pacific, Americas and in Middle East. Close to 550 new hotels with a capacity of 90.000 rooms will be opened in Europe and, of course, Middle East Market plans to reach up to 120.000 rooms from 422 projects in the next 3 to 5 years. As AHK Group, we are proud to have been involved more and more in these new projects. In the last few years, our performance in completed projects like, Ibn Batuta Gate MÜvenpick Hotel, Anantara Royal Amwaj, Meydan City, Al Fattan Resort at Palm Jumeriah, Waldorf Astoria on Palm Jumeirah all in Dubai, UAE has given us more confident about our capabilities and enabled us for bigger challenges. With this motivation and confidence, we have recently undertaken signature projects such as Emirates Pearl Hotel in Abu Dhabi, Raffles Hotel and Residences in Istanbul, Nirvana Resort in Kemer, Mandarin Hotel and Residences in Bodrum. Currently, we are working in UAE, Turkey, Russia and Azerbaijan and have been in contacts for projects in Belarus, Qatar and Kazakhstan. Presently we are eager to expand our distinctive services and quality of productionto these countries. Certainly all these would not have been possible primarily without the trust of our clients and also surely without the hard work, discipline and expertise of my colleagues in AHK and our long term partners outside of AHK who supplied us with workmanship and material. AHK entered UAE market with a branch office undertaking Movenpick IBG Hotel and Apartments turnkey project with 552 rooms and all public areas. Ever since with growing strength numerous projects has been successfully completed and ongoing for prestigious brands (Waldorf Astoria, Hyatt, Westin, W, Sheraton, Anantara,Rixos) in iconic locations (Palm Jumeriah, Burj Khalifa) to globally and locally known Clients (Emaar, Habtoor Group, HH Sheikh Qassimi) in three emirates Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. Currently employing around 100 staff and operating as local LLC company providing turnkey solutions to projects across UAE since 2009 with a regional head office located in Dubai.

GW-GLOBALWAREHOUSE is a FF&E, OS&E and fit-out organization offering its services to international turn-key hotel projects and architecture-construction companies. Headquarters of the company is located in Turkey with showrooms in Istanbul and Antalya; the company also conducts its business from its offices in Dubai-UAE and Russia. Product range includes indoor and outdoor furniture, lighting, fabrics, hotel textile, mosaics and ceramics, wooden floor coverings and hotel equipment. GW’s customer portfolio consists of investors, architects, constructors, fit-out contract companies and public corporations who invest in many selected projects in Turkey, UAE, Russia as well as North Africa, Middle East and Asia. GW team is made up of specialized professionals in the fields of planning, budgeting, product selection and transportation and all related areas of consultation. GW competes with itself in providing better quality service at reasonable budgets and punctual timing.

AHK has one of the most advanced production premises in the country. AHK produces all distinctive quality furniture and upholstered products in its premises by its qualified, expert team. In its 20.000 sqm facility in Antalya, Turkey. There are production lines for fixed and loose furniture, customized joinery, upholstery workshop and metal furniture. AHK also has special fabric production affiliations in Bursa, Turkey and Corlu, Turkey where any type of fabric can be produced in any quantity. Established in 2003 and serves under a big complex with 15000 m2 closed area, AHK Furniture Factory targets to deliver the best quality service in terms of production. Starting from its first day ahk Furniture Factory has successfully completed wood works including both fixed and loose furniture and upholstered items for numerous of projects including residential areas, hotels and corporate buildings. As being the most modern furniture factory in Antalya / Turkey, AHK’s superior portfolio of projects illustrates our skills in combining aesthetic and operational requirements to create the harmonious and complete results in line with our client’s expectations. Our quality policy is to develop stylish and innovative products by using advanced weaving techniques with our high standart yarn collection. Our products portfolio includes dobby weaving, jacquard weaving, jacquard-woven and knitted velvet. Ondesign follows all new techniques in designing and production, and uses them. Our fabrics are produced and tested as to International quality standard; British Standard and ISO standards are accepted as the base. With high test results ; fire retardancy, stain and waterproof application, back coating , anti-bactrial, etc… , our products meet the strict standards of contract market. Ondesign has right to use Trevira CS , Kanekeron, etc...

AHK entered Azerbaijan in 2012 with Port Baku Tower Project under Pasha Construction who are the leading organization in Azerbaijan Construction Industry by far. Project was successfully completed on time which led to the award of Whitecity Hotel Project public areas package by the same Client, that is targeted to be completed by early 2015. We are actively tendering for numerous other projects in Azerbaijan to become a permanent solution provider in Azerbaijan Fit out and FF&E Contracting. Currently AHK Azerbaijan employs over 100 staff and targeting continuous growth and permanent presence in Azerbaijan.
AHK Interiors, which was established in 1996, is carrying out turnkey and fine structure works of various spaces and projects such as hotels, living spaces, residences, offices and business centers. Having conducted many resort, city and boutique hotel applications that are significant in international scope, and countinuously adding a new one over these works every day, AHK Interiors is introducing the brand “AHK DESIGN HOTEL”, of which the area of expertise is a universal premier in hospitality sector, with architects, interior architects and hotel investors in the year 2013.

Our annual production capacity per year is 9000 hotel rooms and general outdoor and technical electricity connection and lighting fixtures of 20 hotels. We can produce exclusive custom-made lighting fixtures for special projects. After-sales installation supervision and technical support during the warranty period are our value added services. We are ready to offer and live the beauty of light together with our customers.

QUALITY POLICY Whilst always aiming to render the best services to its customers, AHK endeavors to continuously improve all the work processes under it. Our Company policy is to supply products of high quality and maintain customer confidence and satisfaction by high standards of support. In this respect we proudly state that AHK has created and implemented its quality system in such a way as to meet the requirements of the ISO 9001:2000 standard. All the requirements defined in ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System and ISO 14001: 2006 Environmental Management System are duly met by AHK. On the other hand –AHK holds the certificate of BM TRADA TIMBER FIRE DOORS BS 476-PART:22 for 30, 60, 90 and 120 minutes fire rated doors. Obtaining these certificates AHK has embodied its high quality service and main principle of implementing the best production in the shortest possible time without making concessions to the quality of production.

AHK’s organization is based on a flat type of organization principle to ensure the minimum bureaucracy and the maximum efficiency. Every office works independent from the HQ in daily activities. Marketing&Sales are done by each office independently. The inquires and the leads gather at the HQ and the ‘GO’ decision is taken there. For tenders, HQ tender department controls the process and either prepares the tender itself or delegates to the regional office while having the final approval. HQ is responsible for contract negotiations and contract signing Procurement is done by HQ for the main items. For daily items or small packages, regional offices are authorized to handle them. All joinery, furniture, metal and fabric production are done in Turkey. This ensures our quality control and cost control. Unless, it is an urgent delivery or installation, we prefer to keep all our production in Turkey for the mentioned items. For the items such as Marble, Gypsum, Flooring and Glass works, we have our regional solution partners that have worked with us in many projects and have demonstrated the skill and proper quality that AHK can underwrite comfortably.
The project management teams are always made of locally established
staff. All the PM team members go through a strict evaluation process before hiring and are tested ‘on the job’ before being given responsibility. AHK is keen to allow its collegues to advance by position and responsibility in the company by giving them the chance to move to new positions before an outside hire. Therefore, outside hires usually start from lower ranks so they absorb the AHK culture before they take major responsibilities. AHK always prefers to use the local manpower resources. However, in order to ensure the quality we commit to our Clients, we place a core qualified technical supervisor team from the HQ in every project. The rest of the labor workforce is obtained from local sources.
At the end of 2012, AHK had approximately 1500 staff including, architects, designers, technicians, administrative staff and factory workers all over the world.

Derin, which was established in 1971, continues to create its modern furniture collection under the partnership of Haldun Kilit and Derin Sar覺yer. Derin furniture collection is developed for all kinds of creative spaces in the office environment and private homes. Derin has gone on to become a highly respected manufacturer from Istanbul with an international reputation for its unique simplicity. Derin promotes natural longevity in both design and production processes. From the choice of materials to what adhesives are used, transportation and energy consumption, Derin applies an environmental strategy at every aspect.

Aziz Sar覺yer As he incorporated Derin Design in 1971, he has started his professional life infurniture, design and production areas. He became a well known name of international design field with his deep interestabout the profession of design since his early age and his self consistant, hardworking personality. In the year of 2000, the collection of Derin which is managed by him and his copartner Derin Sariyer, made the company one of the leading brands of the world in terms of furniture design. The collection also helped bringing design approach in Turkey to the international standarts. As designer he participated many projects with international companies which are Cappellini, Moroso, Zeritalia, Sica, Altreforme, B-line. He also designed for many Turkish companies as AHK, Derin, Alparda, Hamam, Park, Step, Haaz Gallery, 888design, Anadolucam, Tibet, Aksigorta, Diageo, Mana Design, Delta, Idenova and Nurus. In 2004, he was chosen for the Encyclopedia of 100 Designer in 21. Century by Terence Conran Publishing. Recently he has incorporated Sariyer Design and continue his works as designer for many international and local companies. In addition to this he has given lectures or universities and participitated many design and art exhibitions. He also took part in many design competitions as jury and arranged conferences in order to explain himself.

Derin Sarıyer Born in Istanbul on October 24, 1972. Graduated from Lycée Saint Joseph and Bilkent University Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design. After working for 1 year at the product research and development department of Cappellini firm in Milan, she came back to Istanbul in 2000. She started to create the Derinmodern furniture collection with Aziz Sarıyer. Derin brand has participated in many design fairs at home and abroad under her direction. Some of these fairs were at New York-ICFF, Milano-Salone del Mobile, Paris- Masion Object, Köln - Köln Messe, Londra -100% Design London, İstanbul – Istanbul Design Week. At the same time, she is one of the designers of the Derin firm. Derin Sarıyer has more than 30 designs in the Derin collection. Her designs ‘Mild’; ‘Tun’, ‘Nas’ and ‘Fek; ‘Fek’; ‘Nas Small Table’; ‘Ram’, ‘Fek’ and ‘Tun’ were deemed respectively worthy of the Wallpaper Design Award, Design Turkey, Chicago Good Design Award, IDA (International Design Awards) and EDIDA Turkey (Elle Deco Design Award), Europe 40 Under 40.

Ece & Oğuz Yalım Ece Yalım has graduated from the department of Industrial Design of Middle East Technical University, 1988, and completed her master degree in Interior Design at Pratt Institute of Technology, New York, 1992. She continued her professional life in New York till 1994. Oğuz Yalım has graduated from Bilkent University, Ankara, 1993 (Bachelor of Fine Arts Faculty, Interior Architecture and Environmental Design) Since 1993 he completed a wide variety of interior design projects. They incorporated Artful Interior Design Company. 1996, gathering their different design approaches by adding up their early experiences and enlarged their team and scope of work by setting up the product design department; Ece Yalım Design Studio in 2005, under the roof of Artful. During this time period, they have been working on designs of a wide variety of interior projects from hospitals, corporate offices, to restaurants, hotels, showrooms, fair stands etc. supporting them with their especially designed custom objects. They also create their own product collection ıncluding furniture and accessories. Meanwhile they design industrial design products; mostly office & home furnitures, indoor & outdoor lighting, rugs, home and office accessories , cutleries, kitchen utensils for leading Turkish Companies such as Nurus, Ersa, Rapido, Paşabahce Mağazaları, Arlight, Moonligt, Atlas Carpet, Aryıldız and AHK Design Product. As industrial designers they placed their name at the international level exhibiting quite variety of their products including furniture and accessories at Koln, Orgatec Office Furniture Fair and indoor+outdoor lighting products at Frankfurt Lighting Fair so many times. The objects they design have their roots in space design as a natural result of their longtime interior design experiences. To come up with a strong ‘human-space-object’ relationship is the common approach to their design process, no matter which trend is ‘in’ at the moment. So this humanistic stand supported with their innovative and universal approach of their designs have been rewarded with world wide known, influential design awards such as Red Dot Design Awards, Red Dot Design Award Honourable Mention , IF Product Awards, Good Design Awards, German Design Awards, A Design Awards, IDEA Design Award, Design Turkey Good And Superior Design Awards, so many times. They both attend seminars, workshops, give lectures at design departments of universities to share their professional experiences. KUUM DESIGN works with famous designers in Europe and its new collection will be launched at Spoga Fair in Germany, in September 2015. Many designers like Roberto Serio, Joan Gaspar and Bahadır Yargın have their signatures on KUUM’s new products.
Part of the
production of the collection will be done in Turkey and part of it in China. The collection will also be exhibited at FIERO MILANO ITALIA furniture fair in 2016.

JUAN GASPAR I began to learn the craft of designing under the guidance of LluĂs Porqueras. In those days, towards the end of the 80s, Lluis had a small factory producing lamps in the Poble Nou district of Barcelona. At that time, prior to the 92 Olympics, Poble Nou was still a hive of industry, where companies, both large and small, as well as tiny craft workshops thrived; that formed a very valuable framework for a capital city like Barcelona, which was also striving to become a design hub. My earliest efforts, mainly lamps, date from that period. Looking back, now, I am still proud of them and they serve to remind me that I had the best teacher possible. Today, I am a seasoned professional, but one who often thinks that his designs still retain the essence of those early years, given that I am still more interested in explaining how I have done things and showing how I have solved problems, rather than in the end result per se. That is not to say that the end result does not interest me obviously it is very important but, since the solution, about which everyone has their own opininion, is apparent, I feel that no one, other than its creator, can explain its hidden secrets knowledgeably and with passion.
