HISTORICAL

EVOLUTION

OF THE CAMPS

Since the information of the war and refugee camp is too long to be found, the project began to collect data after the Second World War in 1945 At the same time, as the recent history of the world is also a history of local wars, with small-scale con icts breaking out from time to time, the project chose Palestine, a typical Middle Eastern country, as the object of study, and extracted information for the subsequent design by studying the continuous development and improvement of refugee camps in Palestine as an element.

DESIGN INSPIRATION EXTRACTION

The sea refugee camp is inspired by the element of "tearing", which corresponds to the psychological trauma caused by the war to the refugees, and through the analysis of the type of destruction, elements are extracted from it to generate space, and the repair of space corresponds to the repair of the refugees' body and mind, in order to generate the refugee camp with this intention

Functional divisions

The ve functional blocks of medical area, seashore park, production area, living area and religious memorial space constitute the main functional divisions of the marine refugee camp, which can meet the daily needs of refugees and build an ideal society for future life

RENDERING PRESENTATION

The rounded and softly curved body of the building ows hazily through the angry sea, blending with the environment while re ecting the ow of all things and regeneration, symbolising the end of the refugees' tragic past and the beginning of a new life

BOUNDARIES OF VIRTUE AND EVIL New prison design

In China, prisons were built early, re ecting the shortcomings of functional facilities and outdated concepts, resulting in a lack of guarantee of prisoners' human rights, poor rehabilitative e ects and a high rate of social recidivism

CRIME LOGIC

Therefore, I want to create a new mode of prison operation, to ensure the rights of prisoners and the e ect of reform by narrowing the distance between prisoners and society, to narrow the distance between prisoners and citizens by exploring the boundary between prisoners and citizens, and to ease the relationship between them. Through the educational function of Prisons, not only prisoners but also citizens can experience prison life in person, reducing the social crime rate.

LOCATION ANALYSIS

Xi'an is an ancient capital with a long history. As the core city of Northwest China in the new era, its urban development level and people's ideas are relatively backward Xi'an initially developed its economy through heavy industry. With the development of urban planning, social contradictions intensi ed Therefore, Xi'an needs the innovation of new ideas.

Prisons are supposed to be places where people are imprisoned, but because of the coldness and discrimination outside the hedge, they are unable to nd a way out after their rehabilitation and returning to the walls is the only place they can go

The area contains many tra c trunk lines, with dense population and fast ow. It is a high incidence area of crime.

The establishment of prisons in this area has a deterrent e ect The location of the prison in the centre of the city helps to increase the exposure of the prison, facilitates interaction between citizens and prisoners and prevents the isolation of prisoners from society.

CHARACTERISTICS OF CHINESE AND WESTERN PRISON MODELS

In the new prison, the boundary is endowed with a new concept, which is not isolation but more attraction, so as to achieve the role of prison in purifying prisoners and educating citizens through mutual contact

The transparent glass boundary allows the factory to maintain good lighting and vision, while reminding prisoners that although the prison is free, there are still boundaries and rules

The natural lawn creates vitality for the space and acts as a boundary. The melodious music weakens the isolation of the boundary and attracts people to the lawn rest area. Treadmills and bicycles can generate electricity for prisons and communities

The boundary of the yarn keeps the privacy of the compartment, while the soft material also gives people comfort

The natural border attracts citizens and prisoners to gather at the border and exchange vegetables and daily necessities here, so as to teach prisoners to earn their own living

The Way To Purify The Evil

The prison building is like a parasite parasitic on the original building. It can be a tumor of the city or a useful plug-in to expand the functions of the original building, which depends on the way and attitude people treat it.

This corresponds to the relationship between prisoners and citizens. The advantages and disadvantages of prisoners to society also depend on the way society treats them

Border Integration

The biggest di erence between the new prison and the old prison is its social concept. It does not reform prisoners through reeducation through labor, but helps prisoners master the means to return to society and build con dence in their future life through contact with society, which fundamentally solves the problem of crime. Therefore, I chose the interactive area of prisoners and citizens in the new prison as the key performance object, and will introduce it in the following

LOCATION - Xi'an Film Factory, Xi An, China

In ancient Chinese philosophy, all things are in a corresponding system of heaven and earth. The culture of this ancient city in uences the construction and story of this city, and the development of these two is the reaction of the material life and spiritual life of this city and its people. The ancients believed that only when the spirit and life permeate each other can the individual's value be re ected.

But now the city has become a machine of material desire. People have lost their spirit and passion for life when walking through the hard and cold buildings.Years continue here, but civilization has already stopped abruptly.

Therefore, wanted to use soft materials to build a spatial installation in a lm factory that tells old local stories, so that people can awaken their memories of a good life and rethink the meaning of life in the past/present/future and the way of life they should adopt through a soft spatial form that is di erent from the outside world.

The selection of device materials shall be based on the principle of not being abrupt and high integration with the original site and natural environment. At the same time, the materials should also be familiar to Xi'an citizens and inherit the traditional culture of Xi'an

Background introduction

The story begins in a future society after the Third World War, where the existing social landscape has been reshuffled and there is only one nation left on the earth, called "1".

"The "1" is an extremely centralised state where every citizen must be highly subservient to the ruler, Big, Brother, in thought, word and deed, so learning to act to fool others becomes a mandatory lesson for this generation if they want to survive.

But while people think that their superb performances deceive and play everyone, something else seems to be manipulating everything out in the invisible place

Project Description

This is a commercial interior design project, which renovated an old structure with a very limited budget. By reshaping the spatial relationship, the former “old, shabby and small” space was transformed into a French dessert studio, which also serves as a space for small-scale private parties and social gatherings.

The highlight of the project mainly lies in the redesign and transforma tion of the front and rear facades.

Walls were extended to outdoor, with the purpose to creating a new way of social activities within the aged community and bring new energy to it.
