MEASURED DRAWING OF A CROISSANT
How to measure a Croissant? Use scanner to get plan from the buttom, and sections of the croissant, then measure the length of the croissant. Use grids to help set up the isometric view of the croissant to make it more 3 dimensional.

NEW MARIO WORLD
The city on the ground of city is destroyed, citizens had to move to underground, starting to construct and form their new lives. After a long period of time, the connections between the original city and underground city has become fewer and fewer. The underground city was constructed to become a new home, so they paint bright color on their walls and streets. There is a river flow under city to provide drinking resources for citizens.
Original thought of Mario, the new world is based on these image

Setting up isometrics of Mario world using tracing paper and pencels
Use pencels to trace two seperate mario image on one tracing paper.
Use fine-liners to trace the Mario world.
The ground base of the Mario world after innovation is a twisted cube. Streets and river are discovered underground. Final work after tracing.

PAPER LANDSCAPE
the arrangement of 3D and 2D paneling was inspired by the Chinese knot. As shown in the picture left, 2D panel in the model were arranged like strings while the 3D panel gives the impression of spaces betwen strings.

THIN CITIES 3: ARMILLA THIN CITIES--ARMLIA Armlia is a city with no walls, no floor, no ceilings. Only water pipes remained in the city. The city was given to nymphs at the start, and there were young wemen taking shower in bathtubs. Marco Polo was walking through the abandoned pipe city. There are two spaces that showed him things happened in the past, which was the young women taking shower in bath tub. He did not want to disturb them so he walk away from them and end his journey. When he travelling through the broken pipes, his feeling was heavy as he was wonderring why the city was formed by the pipes. However in the middle of journey he felt relaxed and curious as he saw the nymphs. At the end of the journey he realised that the nymphs only lived in the past so the question came to his mind again which is the reason why his feeling mode became heavy.

REFLECTION
The foundation of design, representation is the first project in my first year of university, which gives me basic introduction in design and architecture knowledge. The lectures of the project introduced mainly themetically knowledge while the studio and workshops focused mainly on techniques and ideas of design. At this point, it is my first time to design a module individrally, and really know about what I should do in the design process. During the workshop seasons, I’ve learnt to use softwares such as indesign and inllustrator to trace and layout images. I also learnt to set up 3D models with Rhino--which fully excited me as it was the first time for me to create 3D models. However, there were still many parts that can be improved. For example, the color I chose to used on my Mario world was weird, which I have already fixed, it looks completely different now. For conclude, this is a good start, and there are still long way to go.
