WELCOME
D
ear International Scala Conference Exhibitor, The team at Scala is very excited about this year’s conference. All our Pan-European top of the line solution selling partners will be visiting in 2013. Next to that, other decision makers out of the Scala company eco system will attend and there will be a good representation of the international press. It has been an exciting time for Scala. We’ve recently released Scala Enterprise, the latest evolution of our software. Our engineers have made this our most innovative, easy-to-use, stable and secure release to date. With the intuitive user interface, fl exible integration options and ability to completely customize this powerful tool to meet their unique challenges, Scala users are inspired to produce high quality digital signage solutions that create an immersive brand experience for their customers or employees. Marketers are looking for new ways to reach customers since the good old methods of TV commercials and newspaper advertisements are no longer working. Even web advertisements are challenged by pop-up and ad blockers found in many of today’s commonly used browsers. Not coincidentally, Scala’s software is now better and easier to use than ever. Brace yourselves, the fl ood gates are about to open… Scala is committed to this market and to supporting our partners. We wholeheartedly believe that digital signage will become a fundamental part of every marketers tool kit and that our partners will be the champions of this technology. Working as a team with Scala, the promise for the future is bright and we look forward to working with all of you as we move into this new era of digital signage.
International Scala Conference 2013
Sincerely, Tom Nix, CEO of Scala

DAVID LENTI - SIEMENS Siemens Wind Power is the world’s third largest manufacturer of industrial wind turbines. Siemens Wind Power grew from 850 employees in 2004 to approximately 8,000 in 2013 including Service. Internal communication is therefore a key focus area. Roughly 5,300 employees are located in Denmark, with roughly 2/3 working at hourly positions vs. 1/3 working at salaried positions. Already in 2009, we needed to fi nd a new communication channel to address our hourly workers in addition to traditional channels including e-mail, printed magazines, and physical bulletin boards. Two factories had introduced an “information screen” solution on their own, but the quality of the system was insuffi cient for global implementation. At the same time, Siemens colleagues in the USA had introduced a parallel solution using Scala. My task was to create and implement a modern, dynamic, and for Siemens brand-appropriate media channel based on the concept that was already introduced. Scala was determined to offer the best solution for Siemens Wind Power. It was launched in February 2011 in Denmark, and is being rolled out at other Siemens Wind Power locations in Germany, China and the UK from late CY2013. Sep 26 - Main stage 14:30-15:00

Projects include creative work for an interactive indoor golf studio and Head of Graphics for Memar TV on a project set up to put the Ethiopian high school syllabus on video. He is currently Head of Content Creation for Ethniks, the company is based in South Africa and specializes in all aspects of digital signage.. Sep 26 - Main stage 14:00-14:30
