CHILD CARE Lead and succeed at the YMCA

The YMCA Difference As a child care team we deliver a positive, play and learning based experience. This allows children to belong, explore and grow. Current research in brain development forms the basis of the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum, which is implemented in over 300 YMCA Child Care Centres across Canada.

YMCA CHILDCARE

Why join the YMCA Child Care team? To focus on your passion Our facilities are well managed with on-site maintenance and housekeeping. This allows our child care staff to focus on what means the most to them – the children. To learn and deliver curriculum-based programs Our staff receive training that allow them to facilitate and expand upon a research-based curriculum proven to help children learn, grow and thrive. To be part of a values-based organization YMCA Calgary staff embody our values of respect, responsibility, honesty and caring in everything they do. We also share and encourage the development of these values in our child care participants.

Meet Sarah “Working at the YMCA has given me a sense of belonging and acceptance. The YMCA has given me many opportunities to grow in my career. I love what I do! “ Sarah | YMCA Caregiver since 2008

Margaret’s Story

Margaret’s Story I began my career with YMCA Calgary in August 2008 as a Primary Caregiver working with the kindergarten group. After a short period of time, I moved into the Child Care Supervisor role.

In July 2011, I became Child Care Director which has created many new and exciting opportunities in my career.

Since becoming employed with the YMCA I have completed both entry and mid-management leadership training. This training has helped to shape both my professional and personal growth.

Working with children is my passion. Through my career in Early Childhood Education I have learned to be empathetic, creative and to build purposeful relationships. Thanks to the YMCA I feel a true sense of accomplishment!

What will your Y story be?
