WHERE ADVENTURE HAPPENS What is

DAY CAMP? During school breaks, and vacations the Y offers a fun, educational Day Camp program for all kids. Each day is full of adventure, from crafts and STEM activities to swimming and outdoor adventures, there’s always fun to be had at the Y’s Day Camp!

CAMP EDWARDS? Located only 45 minutes from Redlands Family YMCA and a mere two hours from Los Angeles, Camp Edwards offers a traditional camp environment for all in the San Bernardino Mountains. Camp Edwards staff, volunteers and camp committee strive to maintain the highest standards in providing a quality camping experience for all ages. We are accredited by the American Camp Association and all camp counselors are CPR certified and receive training in first aid and lifesaving. 5

DAY CAMP DAY CAMPS

Party in the USA

Take camper adventures to the next level this summer! Build self-confidence, meet new friends, and have a blast. Get a thrill from activities at the camp facility such as sports clinics, science experiments, or arts and crafts while exploring exciting weekly themes. From animal experiences to learning new food recipes, our campers will come out learning something new everyday. Day campers will be divided into small groups by age, and will participate in activities appropriate to the interests and needs of their group.

July 5 – July 8 Join us for some Red, White, and Blue small and large group activities. We will compete against other groups in our own Olympics fun. Groups will compete in fun water relays, and other team sports. We will create flags, team chants and have our own team colors!

Down on the Farm July 11 – July 15 Calling all animal lovers! Get ready for a week full of fun activities revolving around animals and insects. Groups will get to have a week full of fun and have an exciting animal experience.

Scavenger Hunt June 6 – June 10 I spy something fun-tastic! Get ready for a week of excitement as our campers seek to gather and complete each hunt! Your camper will learn team building and critical thinking skills while having fun!

Gaming June 13 - June 17 Let’s team up and score! Campers will enjoy a week full of activities with one water themed day. Groups will learn about team work by learning up to work together to achieve victory.

Sports June 20 – June 24 Get your game face on! Campers experience a variety of sports throughout the week such as basketball, soccer, volleyball, or softball. Our camp staff will provide a fun and engaging camp environment to let your camper explore new sports and learn new skills

Chef Week July 18 – July 22 Where all the food lovers at? This is chance to show off or learn new cooking skills. Campers will become a Chef in a training. Join us this week with lessons about healthy eating, following recipes, and how to shop.

Around the World July 25 – July 29 Pack your bag and grab your passport! This week campers will learn about different countries and cultures through games, music, and activities.

Year in a Week August 1 – August 5 Trick or Treat, Happy Birthday! Waiting for your favorite holidays can take forever. So we decide to celebrate them all this week. Get your favorite costume and put on your birthday hat because this week will be awesome!

Let’s get creative! This week will focus on arts & crafts. Campers will explore their artistic mind through fun hands on activities, learning how to create in 3D with different media! 8

GET SUMMER READY WITH FREE WATER SAFETY AND BEGINNER SWIM LESSONS AT THE YMCA! As "America's swim instructor," since 1904, the YMCA has taught children of all ages and from all backgrounds that water should be fun, not feared, if you know how to stay safe in and around water. Children learn fundamental water safety skills that include instruction in “Jump, Push, Turn, Grab” and “Swim, Float, Swim,” two skill sets kids can use if they unexpectedly find themselves in the water. As well as what to do if you see someone in the water who needs help.

AQUATICS With an Association Membership, you get access to the 3 Aquatic Centers across the East Valley! With 4 indoor pools, an outdoor pool, children’s splash zone, spa, and sauna, the Y’s Aquatic Centers offer a variety of options for our members! All aquatic centers are equipped with a pool lift to aid in water accessibility for all members.

This Adaptive Aquatics swim class is a parent-child class for children ages 5 - 18 years with special needs. The goal of this class is to get your child comfortable in the water, teach them how to be safe around water, and become independent swimmers.

The skills taught in the Parent/Child program center around five main components: personal safety, personal growth, stroke development, water games, and rescue. A child must be accompanied by an adult in all parent-child classes.

Preschool Program Ages 3 – 5 The Preschool Program encourages water acclimation to increase comfort with underwater exploration and introduces basic self-rescue skills performed with assistance. Water movement encourages forward movement in water and basic self-rescue skills performed independently. Stroke introduction of basic stroke technique in front crawl and back crawl and reinforces water safety through treading water and elementary backstroke.

Youth Program Ages 6 – 12 The Youth Program focuses on developing water stamina and stroke mechanics. Develop intermediate self-rescue skills performed at longer distances. Stroke development introduces breaststroke and butterfly and reinforces water safety through treading water and sidestroke. Refine stroke technique on all major competitive strokes and encourages swimming as part of a healthy lifestyle.

Water Walking Ages 15+ Instructors lead the Water Walking class through a light-intensity cardio workout that consists of walking around in the water. Movements are forward, backward, and side-to-side. This class will help you to tone and condition your body without added stress on your joints.

While you improve your health and mobility through our fitness programs, you’ll also make new friends and find opportunities to strengthen the social fabric of your community. The Y provides programs and activities that promote wellness, reduce the risk for disease, and help others reclaim their health. The YMCA of the East Valley welcomes members of all abilities and skill levels to participate in group exercise, fitness challenges, and equipment orientations.

BODYCOMBAT Ages 15+ Unleash your inner warrior with this mixed martial arts inspired cardio workout. Strike, punch, and kick your way to superior cardio fitness. BODYCOMBAT Express is the same workout in a 45 minute format.

BODYPUMP Ages 15+ This barbell class will sculpt, tone, and strengthen your entire body, fast! Focusing on low weight loads and high repetition movements, you’ll burn fat, gain strength, and quickly produce lean muscle. Try it once and you will be hooked.


GROUP EXERCISE Personal Training Ages 18+ Get one-on-one attention from a certified personal trainer who will design a specific regimen just for you that will compliment any workout style while giving you that extra push you may need to see results. Packages include single, 5, 10 or 15 sessions.

Pilates Mat Ages 15+ Pilates Mat will help you to develop your core strength while focusing on coordination, flexibility, and stability-based movements. This workout is low impact and is ideal for members of all ages and abilities. Participants will develop their posture and body alignment, enhance balance, and help relieve stress.

Pilates Reformer Ages 15+ Pilates Reformer utilizes the Allegro Reformer machines to create an exercise experience that will shape and tone your body while creating lean muscle mass. Work with an instructor to learn and perfect flexible movements that can be adjusted based on your performance level. This is a low-impact workout that will strengthen your core with grace and concentration. Members must pay a $ 10 fee for each class.

Spinning Ages 15+ An indoor stationary cycling program for all levels of fitness. The efficient, high-energy, group exercise integrates music, camaraderie, and visualization to take you on a fun calorieburning ride. Spin Express is an abbreviated spin class of 45 minutes.

Y Barre Ages 15+ An energetic, fun workout that fuses fitness techniques from dance, pilates, and strength conditioning that will tone the whole body. This class is the perfect combination of strength and flexibility with a bit of a ballet twist.

Zumba Ages 15+ This mixture of salsa cardio and hip-hop dance will get your hips moving and your heart pumping. You’ll have so much fun breaking a sweat you won’t even realize you just worked out for fifty minutes. This class is great for all fitness levels. Members must pay a $ 10 fee for each class.

PERFORMANCE ARTS The YMCA Gymnastics program allows children to explore movement through tumbling, balance, and floor exercise. Children participate as a team to develop self-confidence, strength, and coordination. Your child will focus on skillbased techniques, including jumps, cartwheels, handstands, and more. Children ages 3 -17 will learn and grow with supportive coaches and classmates. Let your creativity shine at the YMCA!

Contemporary Dance Ages 6+

Contemporary is an expressive style of dance that combines modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. It is about connecting the mind and body with fluid dance movements. The program is structured like a dance studio; therefore, parents will observe outside of the classroom.

Dance Acro I Ages 5 – 7 This program studies the progressions of tumbling, contortion, and dance. This is not a class for beginners. Class is structured like a studio program, and for that reason, parents are to observe outside of the classroom.

Dance Acro II Ages 8 – 16 This program studies the progressions of tumbling, contortion, and dance. This is not a class for beginners. Class is structured like a studio program, and for that reason, parents are to observe outside of the classroom.

This class teaches skills that lead to and are taught in Level 1 of Gymnastics. Participants will work on their strength and flexibility, while also learning basic tumbling and balance skills.

Jazz Ages 6+ Jazz creates experimental, free form, and fluid movements combines techniques of classical ballet and modern dance with current forms of popular movements.

Kinder Gymnastics Ages 3 – 5 Kinder Gymnastics teaches basic tumbling and balance skills to preschoolers. This class introduces skills like focusing, listening, and patience while in a fun learning environment.

Music (Drum Corp) Ages 3 – 5 The YMCA Drum Corps is a program that provides students with the opportunity to learn marching music and belong to a group of like-minded musicians. The YMCA Drum Corp program instill a strong sense of work ethic, dedication to small details, cooperation, responsibility, time management, respect, and teamwork. The benefits from participation include mental and physical exercise, socialization, and of course, the most important is musical development.

YOUTH SPORTS YOUTH SPORTS Get in the game with YMCA Youth Sports! The YMCA is here to help children grow into active, skillful athletes while also learning valuable life lessons like teamwork, patience, and dedication. We offer a variety of leagues, clinics, and programs for those looking to learn fundamentals to those focusing on developing skills. YMCA of the East Valley offers a variety of youth sports programs for young athletes ages 3-17.

Basketball League Ages 5 – 17 • 6/6 – 7/30 YMCA Youth Basketball is a fun and great way to introduce children to the sport of basketball and improve all player’s skills as well as athletic abilities. Our leagues emphasize sportsmanship through teambuilding and skill development. Teams practice one evening a week and games are held on Saturdays. Parents will be notified of the day and time your athlete is scheduled to practice.

Basketball Skill Development Clinic Ages 6 – 18 Participants receive private basketball lessons with Coach Robert. Coach Robert will work with participants to identify strengths and weaknesses and development basketball skills to take their game to the next level.

Flag Football Ages 8 – 12 The YMCA believes in the importance of bonding through enriching programs. In Flag Football you learn to make decisions. plus developing footwork, mobility, and quick thinking under pressure. Your child will meet new friends, learn about teamwork and sportsmanship. but above all Have fun!!

Itty Bitty Basketball Ages 3 – 4 Work on the basics in basketball, from eye and hand coordination to sense of direction. Kids will experience the team environment at an early age, all while having fun and giving positive feedback to build self esteem.

Itty Bitty Combo Sports Ages 3 – 5 The Itty Bitty Sports program helps the youth to develop the basic skills and fundamentals of sports. Participants will learn the basic building blocks for success in a fun environment.

Itty Bitty Soccer Ages 3 – 4 YMCA Itty Bitty Sport program helps the youth to develop the basic skills and fundamentals of the sport and the growth of your child in our 4 core values; caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Participants will learn the basic building blocks for success in a fun environment. Come join the fun!!


Martial Arts (Beginner/ Youth) Ages 5 – 8 Martial Arts at the YMCA teaches your mind, body, and spirit to act as one; while introducing techniques that focus on balance and coordination through fun activities that promote positive attitudes, develop strength, balance, coordination, flexibility, discipline and self-confidence. Redlands class is held outdoors in the meadow.

Martial Arts (Youth & Adult) Ages 9+ Learn self-defense in YMCA Martial Arts. This class is a fun and safe way for children and adults to develop control and discipline while learning combat skills. YMCA Martial Arts are non-competitive and encourage sportsmanship and personal growth. Redlands class is held outdoors in the meadow. Our family class allows parents and children to grow within the Arts together while creating lasting memories.

Street Hockey Ages 6+ Learn the game of Hockey in a fun and fast paced setting. Take out your old tennis shoes and get ready for some good old street hockey. Stick and ball puck will be provided. Children will be taught the fundamentals of the game and how to use the hockey stick properly while engaging with team mates and in addition to leading a active life style.

Youth Soccer Clinic Ages 5 – 9 YMCA Youth Soccer helps youth to develop the basic skills and fundamentals of the sport. (Skill Stations) Dribbling, Trapping, Passing, Kicking, Shooting. We encourage youth to grow as healthy, responsible contributors both on and off the field. Kids will love to be a part of a team and parents will enjoy watching their children grow through the Youth Soccer program!

Youth Run Club Ages 9 – 14 Participants will meet and perform conditioning skills such as high knees, heel kicks, ladders, etc. Runners will meet on the track in the fitness center at the beginning of each class. Please send a water bottle with your child to stay hydrated during this activity.

Youth Soccer Ages 3 – 12 YMCA Youth Soccer helps youth to develop the basic skills and fundamentals of the sport, while offering opportunity for individual learning. We encourage youth to grow as healthy, responsible contributors both on and off the field. Kids will love being part of a team and parents will enjoy watching their children grow through the Youth Soccer program!

Youth Volleyball Ages 9 – 17 Participants will develop volleyball skills while learning to play on a team. Improve your hand-eye coordination, work on speed, and practice techniques to help you excel in the sport!

YOUTH PROGRAMS The Y nurtures the potential of every child and teen by supporting their unique youth development journey through comprehensive programming. From cradle to career, the Y provides all youth with the tools and resources they need to succeed in life.

Kids Club Ages 18 months – 12 years Kids Club is a FREE Child Care Service for Association Members. Our Y staff is available to watch your children while you exercise! Take a Group Exercise class, enjoy the Fitness Center, or swim a lap in the pool while your child enjoys fun and games at Kids Club. Children ages 18 months – 12 years old are welcome for up to 2 hours each day! Children must be Y facility members to participate.

Preschool University Ages 18 months – 5 years At our Preschool we focus on nurturing a child’s development by providing a safe and healthy place to learn foundational skills, develop healthy, trusting relationships and build self-reliance through the Y values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. AOA PROGRAM As a part of the Active Older Adults program, the YMCA offers a variety of exercise classes for men and women ages 50+. Seniors are encouraged to stay active with the YMCA through fitness classes that fit their individual health goals. Our AOA Fitness classes are available to help members that are looking for a specialized workout to improve overall well-being at a friendly pace. Members love YMCA Group Exercise classes for their adaptability, encouragement, and support for all skill levels – including members with physical limitations.

Zumba Gold Zumba Gold is a mixture of salsa cardio and hip-hop dance that will get you moving to the music! Zumba Gold has tailored the moves and traditional fast-paced Zumba to meet the needs of members looking to enjoy the workout at a beginner level. The modified moves and pace are easy and fun to learn. Meet new friends and enjoy your workout with Zumba Gold!

The YMCA of the East Valley offers classes for all fitness levels. If you are looking for a gentle workout that will keep you active, we recommend trying one of our SilverSneakers® classes, Zumba Gold, or Pilates Reformer.

SilverSneakers® Classic SilverSneakers® Classic utilizes hand weights, elastic tubing, and exercise balls to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living. A chair is used for seated and/or standing support.

SilverSneakers® Yoga Move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform exercises. Relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity. Visit ymcaeastvalley.org for more info on programs
