CLASS DESCRIPTIONS 30/30 This 60 minute class is split into two sections. First half is cardio on the Spin, 30 minute ride taught within one of the Energy Zones (Endurance, Strength, Interval, Race Day, Mixed Terrain, or Recovery). The second half moves to the cardio room for a variety of classic and modern cardio equipment in a circuit fashion. Pass required for all classes.
Pilates method is not just a series of exercises, but a complete approach to developing body awareness. Focuses specifically on the core (abdominals and lower back) and help to promote flexibility, improved posture and overall muscular tone. Exercises are performed on a mat and include exercises for every part of the body. Power Hour Get ready for some muscular strength and endurance training for the entire major muscle groups in your body; incorporating all elements of a boot camp classes to give you an intense work out. We will use a variety of equipment including dumbbells, tubing, step and stability balls to challenge your entire body. This class ends with abdominal exercises to complete you workout.
Body Pump This 60 minute workout challenges all muscle groups by using the best weight room exercises like squats, presses, lifts, and curls. Great music and your choice of weight inspire you to get results you came for-and fast. Pass required for all classes. Boot Camp Calling all diehards - drop and give me 20! This high intensity boot camp style workout mixes calisthenics and body weight exercises with cardio and strength training to improve your speed, power, and agility. These boot camps are designed in a way to be different all the time, and push our participants harder than they'd push themselves in an environment of teamwork. No coordination required! Appropriate for any student ready to work.
Senior Fit & Fun Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, resistance bands, and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support. This class is open to ALL YMCA members and is suitable for seniors and beginning exercisers.
Cardio Tennis is a high energy fitness activity that combines the best features of the sport of tennis with cardiovascular exercise, delivering the ultimate, full body, calorie burning aerobic workout.
Yoga is a great way to improve muscle tone, increase flexibility, and reduce stress. Don’t be fooled, yoga is a great workout too! Zumba® fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic fitness program. The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms are combined to get your heart pumping. This class is appropriate for all levels, as you can go at your own pace. Zumba Gold® Perfect For Active older adults who are looking for a modified Zumba® class that recreates the original dance/fitness routines. Set to Latin and international rhythms, moves you love at a lower-intensity Zumba Kids This is the ultimate dance-fitness party for young Zumba fans ages 4-11, featuring ageappropriate music and moves that get the kids movin’ to the beat.
Spin This class is designed for an aerobic workout, however, it can be modified to meet your needs. Motivating music is a big part of this workout. Some of the benefits are building aerobic endurance and stamina and it is a great calorie burn. Arrive 10 minutes early to get set up. Bring water and a small towel. Appropriate for all levels as you can go at your own pace. Pass required for all classes.
H.I.I.T This 60 minute High Intensity Interval Training class utilizing the inverted interval training principle specifically designed for those on the go. This class focuses on functional body weight training to quickly develop stamina, weight loss, functional strength and conditioning.
