VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Ages 19 and up The R.E.C.E.S.S. (Recreation Exercise Community Education Social Service) program is designed to service special needs adults by providing them opportunities to socialize with peers, promoting healthy lifestyle habits through proper nutrition and exercise. It fosters community involvement and develops job, independent living, and self-advocacy skills. Anyone interested in this program must fill out an application for review. Transportation is provided from the Eastside Y to the Caine Halter Y. For more information on R.E.C.E.S.S. contact Leigh Ann Huffstetler at: lhuffstetler@ymcagreenville.org.
Membership and program fees pay for only the direct cost of services. We seek additional financial support in order to make the Y available to all in our community, regardless of their financial situation. Children and families who cannot afford to pay full costs deserve the experiences the Y offers as much as those who can. It is through contributions from individuals and companies committed to this community and the values of the YMCA who make it possible for us to provide for scholarships to child care and after school care at our branches, the Judson Community Center, and the Sterling Hope Center. By supporting families in their efforts to be successful, our neighborhoods become safer, healthier, better places to live and work.
