Rising1st – 6th grade Traditional Day Camp is so much more than a place for your child to go when school is out for summer. At Y Day Camps, we’ve raised the “B.A.R.!” Your camper will feel a sense of BELONGING where they are safe, respected, and can express their individuality. Your camper will feel a sense of ACHIEVEMENT as they build skills and realize their passions, talents and potential. Your camper will build RELATIONSHIPS with positive role models and peers as they grow friendships and are inspired. Preschool Camp

3 and 4 year-olds Preschool Camp is the perfect adventure for the first-time camper. Preschool campers are introduced to a structured camp environment that will allow them to participate in hands-on learning experiences along with the traditional activities of camp. Kindergarten Transition Camp

Rising K4 - K5 Kinder Camp is designed to transition campers from half-day programming to full day school programming. This camp will be scheduled like a typical day in kindergarten. Rising 6th – 8th grade Camp focused on improving already refined swimming skills in all 4 competitive strokes: Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Butterfly. We’ll also work on techniques for lip turns, diving, and how to use the pace clock. We will also teach swimmers what to expect at swim meets work and introduce them to using different training techniques. Rising 7th – 8th grade A camp designed to prepare younger children to be able to take the lifeguard class when they turn 15. It will also introduce basic lifesaving skills. Water Polo Camp

Rising 2nd – 8th grade Campers learn proper swimming, biking, and running techniques while having fun. Parents are invited to watch their Tri Campers participate in a youth triathlon at the end of the week. Distances will be: 100 meter swim, 4 mile bike ride, and 1.3 mile run. Rising 9th – 12th grade The C.I.T. program is a 4-week internship for teens who are considering the YMCA as a possible career. This program is a great way to gain valuable job experience and to learn essential leadership skills. Graduates will gain certification in the following: CPR, FA, AED, BBP, O2 and Aquatics Safety Assistant. Certification materials and test fees are included in the camp registration cost. ARCHAEOLOGY CAMPS

Campers will immerse themselves in a week of learning, adventure and discovery at an actual historic site. YMCA Hollingsworth Outdoor Center dates back to 1823, and recent camps have made several interesting discoveries on this historic property. Using shovel, metal detector, and experienced guidance, Campers will learn basic principles of site work and preservation, then apply what they learned in surveying the site. Rising 6th - 9th graders This experience is a unique combination of history, outdoor skills and outdoor adventure. The Overmountain men and women were backcountry settlers who defeated loyalist militia at the battle of King’s Mountain in 1780. We will retrace their steps with visits to Kings Mountain, Roan Mountain State Park, and Sycamore Shoals Historic Park. Campers will spend two days at Hollingsworth Outdoor center honing their camp skills, then head into the Blue Ridge Mountains for a three day camping trip. Rising 7th - 10th grade For more experienced campers seeking a week long hiking/camping adventure in the nearby Blue Ridge Mountains— this trip is for you. We’ll load up at YMCA Hollingsworth Outdoor Center on Monday and head for King’s Mountain State Park for hiking and a bit of history. We then head to Linville gorge, for a dramatic hike to view Linville Falls. We’ll then journey to Roan Mountain State Park to explore this amazing natural and historic site. We’ll then head our bus back to Greenville for a 5pm rendezvous on Friday. This experience will take place entirely in the Blue Ridge Mountains! Dates: July 25 - 29 members: $325 non-members: $400

CAMP CRESCENT

rising K5 - 8th grade Camp Crescent is a weeklong sampler of all of the activities at the historic 55 acre Hollingsworth Outdoor Center. Every day will provide a series of memorable outdoor adventures, including archery, firebuilding, pioneer construction, hiking, and bouldering. Mornings will feature two age appropriate classes , with campers able to choose adventures such as creek crawls, outdoor cooking, candle making, Ga ga ball, and team building challenges, to name a few. CIT Camp (Counselor-in-Training)

The CIT program is a 4-week program for teens who wish to further develop their leadership skills while building new relationships, achieving a variety of new skills in a safe and respected environment where they can express their individuality.
